Role Description

Join Morrison Mahoney LLP as a full-time Associate Attorney in Bridgeport, CT, focused on civil litigation and insurance defense. With 1-5 years of experience, you'll have the opportunity to tackle complex cases in areas such as:

  • Professional Liability
  • Legal Malpractice
  • General Liability
  • Premises Liability

You will be part of a dynamic team that values problem-solving and customer-centricity, driving impactful outcomes for clients. This role offers the flexibility to work from home, allowing you to maintain work-life balance while achieving your professional goals. The expected pay ranges from $105,000 to $130,000 (commensurate with experience).

A Day in the Life of an Associate Attorney:

  • Independently manage your own caseload from inception to conclusion.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, and discovery requests while adhering to deadlines.
  • Prepare for and attend depositions, hearings, and trials, gaining invaluable courtroom experience.
  • Engage closely with clients, experts, and fellow attorneys to devise effective litigation strategies.
  • Maintain regular communication with clients through status updates and written reports.
  • Conduct comprehensive legal research and write memoranda to bolster case strategies.
  • Work alongside seasoned partners and senior attorneys to ensure smooth case management.

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Admitted to the Connecticut State Bar or have an adequate UBE score for admission to the jurisdiction.
  • 1 to 5 years of litigation experience, preferably in insurance defense or a closely related practice area.
  • Clerkship experience is considered a valuable asset.
  • Proficiency in drafting and arguing dispositive motions.
  • Strong capabilities in performing thorough legal research and responding effectively to discovery requests.
  • Strong advocacy skills for mediations, arbitrations, trials, and hearings.
  • Attention to detail, prioritization skills, and effective communication.
