Role Description
The Systems Administrator supports the operation and maintenance of managed cloud, endpoint, and infrastructure platforms. This role performs systems administration tasks, troubleshooting, and maintenance activities that help ensure client environments remain stable, secure, and compliant with CMMC Level 2 (NIST SP 800-171) practices.
This position focuses on executing defined systems administration work across Microsoft cloud services, identity platforms, endpoint management systems, and supporting infrastructure. Responsibilities include:
- Implementing configuration changes
- Performing maintenance tasks
- Responding to operational alerts
- Resolving technical issues across managed environments
The Systems Administrator works within established processes and standards and under the supervision of the Senior Systems Administrators to support the reliable and secure operation of managed systems.
Hours are Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm ET, and providing on-call/after hours, including weekends, when necessary.
What You'll Do:
- Perform administrative tasks within Microsoft 365, Azure/Azure Gov, Entra ID, Exchange, SharePoint, and Teams environments
- Implement configuration changes and maintenance activities across managed systems and platforms
- Manage endpoints using Microsoft Intune (device enrollment, configuration policies, and compliance remediation)
- Support Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) environments and manage user access and operational maintenance
- Troubleshoot infrastructure, cloud, endpoint, and network issues escalated from the Service Desk or monitoring systems
- Respond to monitoring alerts and assist with incident resolution
- Support secure access technologies such as Zscaler
- Perform routine system maintenance, updates, and operational tasks
- Maintain accurate technical documentation and operational records
- Collaborate with Service Desk, Security, Project, and Compliance teams to support managed environments
- Participate in rotating emergency on-call support
Qualifications
- 3+ years Systems Administration experience
- Experience with Microsoft 365 and Azure administration
- Experience with Intune device management
- Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and networking fundamentals
- Strong troubleshooting and documentation skills
- Experience working in MSP or multi-client environments
Requirements
- Azure Virtual Desktop or Nerdio experience
- Familiarity with security tools such as EDR platforms
- Security+, Microsoft, or other relevant certifications
- Experience supporting regulated environments (CMMC / DoD)
