Job Description
Role Description
Responsible for the performance of a range of duties including but not limited to full cycle payroll processing; hire and termination processing; timesheet entry and verification; employee inquiry assistance and other tasks. Process bi-weekly payroll for both Canada and the United States for hourly and salary employees. This position can be worked remotely.
In this role you will be impacting hundreds of livelihoods for the better.
What You'll Be Doing in This Role:
- Working with other specialists, reviews payroll data and reports and compares to supporting documentation to verify accuracy.
- Responds to employee and external inquiries regarding payroll.
- Prepares Records of Employment (ROE’s).
- Assists with the year-end process reconciling T4s, T4As, W2s, 1099s.
- Reconcile WSIB and EHT annually.
- Act as liaison for audit requests (internal and external) and requests for financial information pertaining to payroll.
- Conduct analysis of various payroll general ledger accounts.
- Participate as a member of the payroll team on a variety of reporting, analysis and due diligence projects.
Qualifications
- Post-Secondary Education
- Minimum 3 years work experience within a payroll role
- Ideal candidate would be Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP)
- General accounting knowledge
- Experience with ADP WorkforceNow
- Experience with multi-jurisdiction payroll for Canada and United States
- Strong background with United States payroll
- Confidentiality and discretion are key to the role
- Customer focused approach to internal and external inquiries
- Strong Problem-Solving skills
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PDF
- Ability to meet deadlines and prioritize tasks
Requirements
This position has a starting salary range of $60,000-$65,000 CAD or $70,000-$75,000 USD per year. This is the range we reasonably and in good faith expect to pay for the role at the time of posting. An employee’s pay within the range is determined by a number of factors, including relevant skills, education, qualifications, experience, performance, business or organizational needs, and geographic location.
