Role Description

itD is seeking a Technical Program Manager III to support hardware design and engineering teams in driving complex product development programs for next-generation consumer hardware. In this role, you will:

  • Coordinate engineering design deliverables, including specifications, design of experiments (DOE), and validation plans.
  • Manage delivery of hardware components required for development builds and drive qualification activities to meet production timelines.
  • Develop and maintain program schedules for engineering milestones, including development, qualification, and delivery timelines.
  • Coordinate cross-functional collaboration across engineering teams, program leadership, and external suppliers.
  • Track program status, identify potential risks or setbacks, and communicate updates to stakeholders and leadership.
  • Manage supplier engagement and tooling schedules to ensure hardware readiness for development builds and manufacturing preparation.
  • Maintain program documentation to ensure materials, schedules, and deliverables remain current and accessible for teams and leadership.

Internal Responsibilities:

  • Attend regular internal practice community meetings.
  • Collaborate with your itD practice team on industry thought leadership.
  • Complete client case studies and learning material (blogs, media material).
  • Build out material to contribute to the Digital Transformation practice.
  • Attend internal itD networking events (in person and virtual).
  • Work with leadership on career fast-track opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in hardware engineering or technical program management within consumer electronics hardware development.
  • Experience coordinating programs across multiple engineering teams and stakeholders.
  • Strong experience managing engineering schedules, deliverables, and program status tracking.
  • Experience working with cross-functional partners in product development environments.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to provide regular program status updates.
  • Knowledge of phase-gate product development processes.
  • Experience supporting design for manufacturing (DFM), validation, and hardware qualification processes.

Requirements

  • Experience working with overseas suppliers and managing hardware component delivery.
  • Experience working with ODM, JDM, or contract manufacturing vendor engagement models.
  • Prior experience in a hardware engineering role prior to transitioning into program management.
  • Experience working with large cross-functional organizations.
  • Previous experience supporting programs at large technology companies such as Meta, Amazon, Apple, Microsoft, or Google.
