Role Description

Are you a current student seeking a valuable internship opportunity in the field of Business Intelligence and Data Analytics? Are you interested in leveraging data to drive insights within cutting-edge health education technology?

This internship is part of the Rising TIDE program. Elsevier created its Rising TIDE internship program to foster inclusion and provide individuals with work experience in the corporate world so that we can develop a pipeline of talent for entry-level individuals for post-graduation opportunities.

The Business Intelligence Intern will support the Elsevier Health Education (EHE) team within the Health Markets division by contributing to data reporting and analytics that inform business decisions. This role offers hands-on experience working with data and collaborating with partners across Sales, Operations, and Technology. It is designed for individuals eager to learn, grow technical skills, and apply data insights in a real-world setting.

  • Location: This is a remote or home-based role, open to various locations in the Eastern and Central Time Zones.
  • Program Dates: June 1, 2026 - August 7, 2026
  • Eligibility: Undergraduate or graduate students expected to graduate by May 2027.

Responsibilities

  • Learn and use the team’s business intelligence tools, systems, and data sources.
  • Assist with building, updating, and maintaining dashboards and reports.
  • Support data quality checks and validation across reporting outputs.
  • Write and refine queries to extract and prepare data for analysis.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and reporting needs.
  • Analyze data to identify trends, gaps, and improvement opportunities while communicating findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Help document report definitions, logic, and processes.

Requirements

  • Be currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Business Analytics, Information Systems, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field of study with a graduation date of May 2027.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in working with data using tools such as SQL, Excel, Python, or similar.
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI is a plus, but not required.
  • Basic understanding of relational databases such as Snowflake, Oracle, PostgreSQL, or SQL Server is advantageous.
  • Exhibit solid analytical and problem-solving skills, with an openness to learning new tools and methods.
  • Possess effective written and verbal communication skills to document findings and share ideas clearly.

Benefits
