The position emphasizes operational coordination, clear communication, and workflow support to ensure accuracy and efficiency in the exchange of laboratory data.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as one of the primary contacts between clients, EMR vendors, and the laboratory interface team during the implementation and modification of new and existing EMR interfaces.
  • Communicate implementation timelines, milestones, and testing requirements to all stakeholders to ensure timely and successful deployments.
  • Organize and facilitate interface testing activities, ensuring accuracy, data integrity, and adherence to laboratory standards.
  • Provide training, guidance, and ongoing support to internal teams and clients on EMR-related workflows.
  • Document and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs), testing results, and communication logs for EMR-related projects.
  • Collaborate with laboratory operations and IT teams to troubleshoot issues, escalate concerns, and ensure resolution.
  • Support compliance with regulatory requirements, including HIPAA, CLIA, and organizational policies.
  • Assist in monitoring and reporting on interface performance, workflow efficiency, and user feedback.
  • Deliver excellent customer service by building positive relationships and ensuring client needs are met throughout the implementation process.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s degree in healthcare, medical laboratory, or related field preferred.
  • Experience working in a healthcare, medical laboratory, or EMR-related environment preferred.
  • Familiarity with EMR workflows and healthcare data processes; knowledge of HL7 or other healthcare data standards is a plus.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and operational efficiency.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with clients, vendors, and cross-functional teams in a healthcare setting.

Physical Requirements: Manual dexterity for office machine operation including computer operations, stooping, bending, mobility to complete errands, or sitting for extended periods of time. Stress can be triggered by multiple staff demands and deadlines.
