Job Description
Role Description
We are looking for a user experience (UX) designer able to understand our business requirements and any technical limitations, as well as be responsible for conceiving and conducting user research, interviews, and surveys, and translating them into:
- Sitemaps
- User flows
- Customer journey maps
- Wireframes
- Mockups and prototypes
- Front end code (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
The UX designer will also be expected to:
- Design the overall functionality of the product
- Iterate upon designs in accordance with user testing
- Use analytics to inform all designs
- Help maintain and frequently contribute to a Pattern Library
- Build out a Persona Library for UX discovery tasks
- Weave iconography, typography, color, space, and texture together

Qualifications
- BA or MA with focus in user-centered design; or 2 years equivalent experience as a UX/interaction designer
- Experience designing complex solutions for complete digital environments
- Experience in using UX design best practices
- Deep understanding of mobile-first and responsive design
- Familiarity with agile methodology/scrum
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Strong interpersonal skills advocating agile approaches and customer focus
- Strong learning mentality
- Strong knowledge of how to collect, measure, and translate customer feedback
- Good time management skills
- Ability to work with clients to understand detailed requirements
- Knowledge of user-centered design (UCD), user research, user testing, A/B testing, rapid prototyping, heuristic analysis, and usability
- Knowledge of web accessibility (WCAG 2.2 AA compliance)
- Desired knowledge with AI tools for UX design (e.g., Figma Make)
- Ability to iterate designs and solutions efficiently
- Ability to communicate design processes and ideas clearly
- Understanding of user-centered design and design thinking
- Ability to work effectively in a team setting
- Excitement about collaborating with teams and stakeholders
- Passion for resolving user pain points through great design
- Openness to feedback and constructive criticism
- Passion for UX and design innovation
Requirements
- Skilled in HTML and CSS
- Basic programming skills in JavaScript and other platforms (e.g., Angular)
- Knowledge of wireframing/prototyping software (e.g., Figma)
- Knowledge of usability testing tools
- Desired knowledge with Bitbucket/Git, AWS, Salesforce Lightning Design System (SLDS), and Google Suite
Responsibility
- Translate concepts into user flows, wireframes, mockups, and prototypes
- Facilitate the client’s product vision through research and user-testing
- Design and deliver wireframes, user stories, user journeys, and mockups
- Help maintain and contribute to the department’s Pattern and Persona Libraries
- Work with the Web Team in their designs and CMS (Tridion)
- Create A/B testing experiments and usability tests
- Work across organizational boundaries with Marketing, Designers, and Product Owners
- Identify design problems and devise elegant solutions
- Make strategic design and user-experience decisions
- Take a user-centered design approach and rapidly test and iterate designs
- Collaborate with team members and stakeholders
- Ask smart questions, take risks, and champion new ideas
Other Duties as Assigned
- Work on search engine optimization (SEO) and analytics tasks for all web applications
