Role Description

We are seeking a dynamic Group Product Manager to lead high-impact initiatives that shape audience engagement, retention, and growth across digital platforms. In this role, you will own the end-to-end reader experience across key page templates and interactions, driving improvements that influence how audiences discover, consume, and return to content. You will collaborate with Product, Engineering, Design, Editorial, and Business Intelligence teams to deliver scalable, accessible, and high-performing experiences. This role combines strategic vision with hands-on execution and offers the opportunity to mentor other product managers while influencing the evolution of a globally recognized media platform. Autonomy, cross-functional leadership, and a data-informed approach are key to success in this fast-moving and high-visibility environment.

  • Own the product vision for sitewide audience experiences, including homepage, article pages, landing pages, and off-site channels such as Push and Apple News.
  • Drive audience growth and engagement by improving metrics such as time on site, return frequency, content recirculation, and depth of interaction.
  • Lead experimentation, testing, and iteration to optimize user experience, performance, and conversion across high-impact digital surfaces.
  • Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Design to deliver scalable, accessible, and technically sound front-end experiences.
  • Partner with Editorial, Audience Development, Consumer Revenue, and Advertising teams to ensure product initiatives support audience growth and business objectives.
  • Identify and launch new content formats, modules, and experiences to unlock incremental audience and revenue opportunities.
  • Define success metrics with Business Intelligence teams, using insights to inform roadmap decisions, prioritization, and product strategy.
  • Act as a senior product leader across initiatives, driving alignment, execution, and mentoring other product managers.

Qualifications

  • 6–8 years of experience in product management, with ownership of consumer-facing digital products at scale.
  • Proven ability to drive audience engagement, retention, and growth through product-led initiatives.
  • Strong experience collaborating with Product, Engineering, and Design teams on front-end or user experience–focused products.
  • Demonstrated success working cross-functionally with editorial, data, and business stakeholders.
  • Data-informed decision-maker, experienced with metrics, experimentation, and insights to guide prioritization.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence across teams and levels.
  • Experience in digital media, publishing, or content-driven platforms is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with monetization models such as advertising, subscriptions, or commerce, and their interaction with user experience.
  • Comfortable operating in fast-moving, high-visibility environments with large and diverse audiences.

Benefits

  • Competitive base salary: $140,000–$150,000 annually.
  • Fully remote work flexibility (within U.S.-eligible states).
  • Opportunity to lead high-impact initiatives shaping experiences for millions of users.
  • Collaborative, inclusive, and fast-paced environment with opportunities for mentorship and leadership growth.
  • Exposure to advanced analytics, audience research, and monetization strategies.
  • Comprehensive support for professional development and career progression.
