Role Description
The Supply Chain Product Lifecycle Manager is responsible for managing how new and existing part numbers are reviewed, introduced, changed, and phased in and out from an Operations perspective.
- Coordinates cross-functional reviews to ensure part changes are fully understood and properly executed in operational systems and Bills of Material (BOM).
- Manages part numbers in the ERP and related systems.
- Reviews inventory levels and open orders.
- Provides stocking and depletion recommendations.
- Tracks approved substitution and alternate parts to reduce supply risk.
- Builds and maintains the processes used to manage part changes and ECOs.
- Acts as a project coordinator across multiple functions—Operations, Strategic Sourcing, Engineering, Quality, Sales, Project Management, and Product Management.
- Focuses on a dynamic environment with new suppliers and supply chain partners.
Qualifications
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Working knowledge of supply chain and operations fundamentals.
- Ability to apply formal supply chain education or training to practical execution.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, with advanced Excel skills.
- Experience with PLM and ERP systems, Arena and NetSuite preferred.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong customer service mindset.
- NPI experience with the ability to implement a new process.
- Strong project management skills including the use of project management software.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Engineering, Project Management or related field.
- 5 years of combined NPI, Lifecycle, Supply Chain, Project Management experience.
- 2 years of Management experience.
- Experience with steel manufacturers (preferred).
- Willingness to travel at least 10-20% of the time.
