Job Description
Role Description
We’re looking for a Senior HR Generalist with 7–10 years of progressive human resources experience, ideally supporting multi-state teams in a technical or field-service environment. This individual will be both hands-on and strategic, balancing day-to-day operations with long-term planning to ensure compliance, consistency, and employee engagement across all states where we operate.
At our size and growth stage, this role is critical in building the HR foundation that will sustain our next phase of expansion.
Key Responsibilities

Employee Lifecycle Management
- Lead full-cycle onboarding and offboarding processes, ensuring compliance and positive employee experience.
- Administer employee status changes, promotions, transfers, and terminations.
- Maintain accurate employee records and HRIS data integrity.
- Support workforce planning and headcount tracking.

Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws across multi-state operations.
- Manage unemployment claims, employment verifications, and audit responses.
- Support development and maintenance of employee handbook, policies, and SOPs.
- Partner with leadership on employee relations issues, investigations, and corrective actions.

Payroll & Benefits Coordination
- Coordinate closely with Payroll to ensure accurate processing, job costing alignment, and regulatory compliance.
- Administer benefits programs including enrollments, changes, and employee communications.
- Manage leave administration including FMLA, ADA accommodations, and state leave programs.

Performance & Talent Support
- Support performance review cycles and manager coaching.
- Assist leadership with employee development planning and retention strategies.
- Participate in recruiting process design, interview coordination standards, and hiring compliance.

HR Systems & Reporting
- Maintain and optimize HRIS systems (e.g., Paycom).
- Produce HR metrics and reports including turnover, headcount, and workforce trends.
- Identify opportunities for workflow automation and process efficiency.

Strategic HR Infrastructure
- Help build scalable HR processes to support company growth.
- Standardize onboarding frameworks, documentation practices, and compliance controls.
- Partner with executives on organizational structure planning and workforce risk mitigation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 7–10 years progressive HR experience, preferably in a multi-state or high-growth environment.
- Strong knowledge of employment law, compliance requirements, and HR best practices.
- Experience with HRIS/payroll systems (Paycom or similar).
- Proven ability to manage sensitive employee relations matters with discretion.
- High level of organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently in a remote environment.
- Must be available to work West Coast business hours.
Preferred Qualifications
- SHRM-CP / SHRM-SCP or PHR / SPHR certification.
- Experience supporting field or project-based workforce environments.
- Background in scaling HR processes for growing organizations.
