Role Description
The Senior Project Designer plays a key role in the concept development and design process for spa, wellness, fitness, and hospitality amenity projects. This position supports projects from early ideation through schematic design, working closely with the consulting team, architects, interior designers, and ownership groups.
The ideal candidate combines creative design thinking with operational awareness, ensuring that spaces are not only visually compelling but also functional, efficient, and aligned with the intended guest experience. This role requires the ability to translate client goals, brand positioning, and operational requirements into thoughtful design solutions.
Key Responsibilities

Concept Development & Design:
- Develop conceptual design solutions for spa, wellness, fitness, and hospitality amenity projects.
- Create mood boards, sketches, presentations, and digital models to communicate design intent.
- Translate brand positioning, user experience goals, and client vision into compelling spatial concepts.
- Contribute to the full design process from concept through schematic design.

Wellness & Spa Programming:
- Support the planning and layout of wellness and hospitality spaces including treatment rooms, thermal areas, locker rooms, fitness spaces, and relaxation environments.
- Integrate guest flow, service flow, and operational considerations into design solutions.
- Assist in translating programming requirements into functional and efficient layouts.

Collaboration & Technical Coordination:
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, consultants, and project teams throughout design phases.
- Support development of design documentation including drawings, specifications, and presentations.
- Ensure design solutions align with building codes, ADA requirements, and operational considerations.

Client & Project Engagement:
- Participate in client meetings, presentations, and design charrettes.
- Communicate design rationale clearly to both internal teams and clients.
- Revise design concepts based on feedback and evolving project goals.

Project Support:
- Assist with materials research, sourcing, and sample coordination.
- Support quality control of design deliverables.
- Participate in site visits and coordination meetings with project teams when required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Interior Design, or related field.
- 5–8 years of design experience, preferably within hospitality, wellness, spa, or amenity design.
- Experience working with multidisciplinary teams including architects, consultants, and developers.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong conceptual and creative design thinking.
- Excellent graphic and visual communication skills.
- Ability to translate operational and programmatic requirements into design solutions.
- Strong presentation and storytelling abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced consulting environment.
- Collaborative mindset and strong interpersonal skills.
Technical Skills

Proficiency with design tools including:
- AutoCAD
- Revit
- SketchUp
- Adobe Creative Suite
- Rendering software such as Enscape, Lumion, or V-Ray.
