Role Description
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Field Service Technician to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical and control systems at customer sites. This is a full-time role with significant travel, offering the flexibility of remote work when not in the field. The home office is based in New Orleans, LA, with travel supporting projects nationwide.
Travel Requirement
- 80% travel / 20% home or remote work
- Travel to customer sites with remote support and reporting when off-site
- Company credit card can be requested, if needed
Key Responsibilities
- Install, commission, and service electrical, control, and automation systems
- Troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, sensors, and industrial networks
- Perform diagnostics using schematics, wiring diagrams, and manuals
- Conduct preventive maintenance and system inspections
- Document service activities and provide clear reports
- Communicate professionally with customers and project managers
- Follow safety standards and company procedures at all times
Qualifications
- 2+ years of field service, electrical, or industrial maintenance experience
- Strong electrical troubleshooting skills (AC/DC, control circuits)
- Ability to read electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively (80%)
- Valid driver’s license
- Clear criminal record
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
- Drug screening after hire with possible random drug screening
Preferred Qualifications
- PLC experience (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Schneider, etc.)
- Marine, shipyard, or industrial automation experience
- OSHA, TWIC, or marine safety training
- Ability to work independently in the field; passport preferred
