Job Description

Head of Operations

Tellos

Tellos is rebuilding how autism care is delivered.

We help BCBAs run independent, high-quality practices — without getting buried in operations. Families get care faster. Providers earn more and burn out less.

We are growing fast. Demand is real.

Operations is now the constraint.

This role exists to remove that constraint.

Your job is simple to describe and hard to execute:

Make it easy for families to start therapy.

Make it easy for providers to deliver therapy.

Make it easy for Tellos to scale without breaking.

You will own the operating system of the company — from first referral to first therapy hour — and turn a complex, human-heavy service into something fast, reliable, and repeatable.

What You’ll Own

End-to-end service operations

You own the full chain:

Referral → intake → assessment → authorization → staffing → scheduling → therapy start.

Where things slow down, break, or silently fail — you fix them permanently.

You will design workflows for credentialing, authorizations, and RCM that can scale across states.

You will create visibility into where revenue is created, delayed, or lost operationally.

If kids wait too long for therapy, providers struggle to fill schedules, or hours don’t convert into revenue — you will treat that as a solvable system problem.

You are both the stabilizer and the accelerator.

Build systems, not heroics

Turn tribal knowledge into clear processes.

Replace chat-driven execution with structured operating rhythms.

Build SOPs that new hires can run without constant supervision.

Your goal is not to be the person who saves the day.

Your goal is to design a system where fewer days need saving.

Own the operational scorecard

You will define and drive the metrics that actually determine company health:

• Time-to-treatment

• Provider utilization

• Funnel conversion and drop-off

• Authorization velocity

• Cancellation and denial patterns

You won’t just report numbers.

You will explain why they move — and what we do next.

Drive cross-functional execution

You will work daily with clinical, recruiting, product, finance, and growth.

You will:

• Make intake-to-treatment timelines predictable

• Reduce churn caused by operational friction

• Partner with Product to automate manual workflows

• Design operating models that support expansion from a handful of states to nationwide scale

If something is “everyone’s responsibility,” it becomes yours.

Shape product through operational reality

Tellos is a software-enabled services platform.

You will identify where software can replace coordination work, reduce rework, and improve data integrity.

Product builds the tools.

You ensure those tools actually work in real operations.

Build and lead the operations team

You will lead intake, support, recruiting coordination, and operational program management.

You will set the cadence, raise the bar, and develop future operators.

We are not building task-doers.

We are building owners.

What success looks like

Within 3-6 months:

• Families start therapy significantly faster

• Providers feel supported instead of blocked

• Leadership spends less time firefighting

• Expansion into new states becomes operationally predictable

• The company grows without proportional chaos

Who this role is for

You may be a strong fit if you:

• Have scaled complex service or marketplace operations

• Are highly analytical but deeply execution-oriented

• Can create clarity in ambiguous, fast-moving environments

• Care about operational quality, not just strategy decks

• Hold people accountable while building trust

Healthcare or ABA experience helps.

Operational judgment matters more.

Why Tellos

Tellos is mission-driven, self-funded, profitable, and operator-led.

You will work directly with the CEO and leadership team to shape how this company scales.

This is not a maintenance role.

It is a build-the-machine role.

If you want to design the operating backbone of a category-defining healthcare company, this is that opportunity.

We believe in hiring people, not resumes. If you’re excited by Tellos’s mission but unsure if you meet every requirement, we still encourage you to apply, we’d love to learn what you’d bring to the team.
