Sr. Accountant

FULLY REMOTE

Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated Sr. Accountant to perform and oversee general accounting functions. This role includes managing journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis. The successful candidate will manage and maintain billing processes within Workday, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies. You will support month-end and year-end close activities, including the preparation of financial statements and reports, while assisting with audits and ensuring adherence to GAAP and internal controls. Additionally, you will identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute to system enhancements.

Responsibilities

  • Perform and oversee general accounting functions, including journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
  • Manage and maintain billing processes within Workday, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
  • Support month-end and year-end close activities, including the preparation of financial statements and reports.
  • Assist with audits and ensure adherence to GAAP and internal controls.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute to system enhancements.

Essential Skills

  • Proficiency in accounting, general ledger, reconciliation, and month-end processes.
  • Experience with Workday billing and financial reporting.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, reporting, and financial statements.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
  • 2+ years of Workday ERP experience (required)
  • 3+ years of accounting experience.
  • Proficiency in Excel, including VLOOKUPs and Pivot Tables.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • CPA certification is a plus.
  • Public accounting experience is advantageous.
  • Experience in software as a service accounting is beneficial.
  • Audit experience is a plus.
  • Experience with international accounting would be an added advantage.
Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Minneapolis, MN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $48.08 - $52.88/hr.
