Overview

Vice President, Academic Affairs

 

The Vice President of Academic Affairs provides senior strategic leadership for Evidence in Motion’s (EIM) enterprise academic strategy, faculty systems, and discipline-specific academic leadership across all EIM-supported University Partner (UP) programs. This role ensures that academic models, instructional expectations, and faculty engagement frameworks are aligned with accreditation standards, institutional priorities, and EIM’s commitment to high-quality hybrid and accelerated education.

 

Reporting to the Chief Academic Officer and serving as a member of EIM’s Senior Leadership Team, the Vice President operates within a highly matrixed organization and leads academic functions across healthcare disciplines to ensure academic quality, instructional rigor, and learner readiness. The role partners closely with EIM leadership and UP executives to strengthen faculty capacity, guide evidence-based teaching and learning practices, and ensure academic strategies support program stability, scalability, and long-term student success.

Duties and Responsibilities (Include but are not limited to the following)

 

Strategic & Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Serve as a member of EIM’s Senior Leadership Team, contributing to enterprise strategy, organizational planning, and decision-making.
  • Collaborate with peer senior leaders to align academic strategy, faculty systems, and instructional priorities with EIM’s mission, value-creation drivers, and long-term growth objectives.
  • Represent academic quality and faculty readiness perspectives in senior leadership forums, ensuring academic considerations inform enterprise priorities and cross-functional initiatives.

 

Academic Leadership, Governance & Organizational Effectiveness

  • Lead, develop, and retain a high-performing Academic Affairs leadership team, including discipline-specific Academic Officers, curriculum leadership, and faculty systems functions.
  • Establish clear role definition, decision rights, and operating interfaces between Academic Affairs and adjacent service lines.
  • Design and maintain academic governance frameworks that define accountability, escalation pathways, and disciplined decision-making for academic strategy, faculty systems, and instructional standards.
  • Partner with Finance and Enterprise Delivery to ensure resource alignment, budget discipline, and scalable academic support models that enable program quality, faculty readiness, and portfolio growth.
  • Ensure Academic Affairs structures and governance models support consistent execution, partner confidence, and long-term academic sustainability across EIM-supported programs.

 

Curriculum Quality & Academic Integrity

  • Provide strategic oversight of academic quality and integrity across all supported programs, ensuring curricula, instructional practices, and assessment approaches meet professional, regulatory, and institutional standards.
  • Ensure consistent application of EIM’s academic model across disciplines while allowing for institution- and program-specific customization.
  • Partner with Academic Officers and Curriculum Directors to guide the development, maintenance, and continuous improvement of high-quality, evidence-based curricula and Learning Object Repository (LOR) assets.
  • Champion evidence-based instructional innovation that strengthens learning effectiveness, scalability, and long-term academic sustainability.

 

Faculty Systems, Instructional Excellence & Academic Analytics

  • Strengthen faculty readiness and instructional effectiveness through onboarding standards, hybrid teaching expectations, and structured faculty development pathways.
  • Establish expectations for evaluating faculty effectiveness using data-informed insights, learner feedback, and defined performance indicators.
  • Ensure student learning outcomes, performance trends, and readiness indicators are systematically monitored and used to inform academic strategy and instructional improvement.
  • Promote the use of academic analytics and dashboards to identify instructional risks, improvement opportunities, and program-level trends that support student success.

 

Thought Leadership & Culture of Quality

  • Serve as a trusted senior academic partner to University Partner leadership, providing strategic guidance on academic quality, instructional models, and long-term program sustainability.
  • Champion a culture of academic integrity, continuous improvement, and evidence-based decision-making across EIM and its partner institutions.
  • Monitor national and emerging trends in healthcare education, pedagogy, and faculty practice, translating insights into academic strategy and readiness initiatives.

Advance EIM’s academic thought leadership and scholarly presence through discipline-informed scholarship, Scholarship of Teaching & Learning (SoTL), and professional engagement that strengthens EIM’s credibility within the healthcare education ecosystem


Qualifications

Key Qualifications

  • Required:
    • Doctoral degree in a healthcare-related or relevant discipline (PhD, EdD, PT, OT, SLP, PA, Nursing, or closely related field).
    • Minimum of 10 years of progressive academic leadership experience in higher education, preferably overseeing multi-program or multi-discipline academic operations.
    • Demonstrated expertise in hybrid/online education models, academic quality assurance, and contemporary pedagogical practices.
    • Experience working with healthcare accreditation standards (e.g., CAPTE, ACOTE, ARC-PA, CCNE, ASHA) and integrating accreditation expectations into academic operations.
    • Proven ability to lead academic teams, manage complex academic structures, and collaborate effectively with institutional academic leaders.
    • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret academic and student performance data to inform decision-making.
    • Excellent communication, relationship-building, and change-management skills.

 

  • Preferred:
    • Experience working within an Online Program Management (OPM) organization or in partnership with OPM-supported academic programs.
    • Prior leadership experience in Academic Affairs, Institutional Effectiveness, Faculty Development, or Curriculum leadership roles.
    • Demonstrated success supporting faculty scholarship, SoTL initiatives, or academic research.
    • Experience with learning analytics platforms, data dashboards, or technology-enabled academic operations.
    • Experience leading academic functions during periods of institutional growth, program scaling, or accreditation transitions.
