The Benefits Business Systems Analyst – Contract serves as a key link between Total Rewards, HR Technology, vendors, and cross‑functional partners to ensure the successful design, configuration, and operation of Altera’s benefits systems—primarily within Workday.
The ideal candidate combines strong systems expertise, an analytical mindset, and an understanding of global benefits programs. This is a hands‑on role that plays a critical part in delivering an exceptional employee experience while enabling scalability as Altera continues to grow.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) for the Workday Benefits module and related integrations.
Partner with HR Technology to develop, enhance, and test system functionality and workflows.
Collaborate with vendor partners on the configuration and testing of Workday Benefits plans, time off/leave plans, eligibility rules, rates, events, and integrations in alignment with Altera policies and vendor requirements.
Identify system enhancements and partner with HRIS to deploy changes and optimize processes.
Streamline benefits workflows and support continuous improvement initiatives across Total Rewards and HR Operations.
Maintain detailed documentation of system configuration, processes, and standard operating procedures.
Partner with benefits vendors to support EDI file maintenance, integration testing, and troubleshooting.
Provide Workday benefits expertise to ensure optimization of system outcomes.

The pay range below is for Bay Area California only. Actual salary may vary based on a number of factors including job location, job-related knowledge, skills, experiences, trainings, etc. We also offer incentive opportunities that reward employees based on individual and company performance.
$113.2K - $170K USD

Qualifications:
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent experience.
5+ years of experience supporting HR/benefits systems, ideally within Workday.
Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and troubleshooting skills.
Ability to navigate fast‑paced environments with evolving priorities.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in semiconductor, technology, or high‑growth environments.
Exposure to global benefits programs and international configuration.
Experience supporting Open Enrollment cycles from end to end.
