• Support the design, implementation, and ongoing operation of a formal data governance program, including policies, standards, and repeatable processes for managing data across its lifecycle. • Establish and maintain governance routines (working sessions, decision forums, issue triage, and reporting) that drive adoption and measurable maturity improvements. • Provide clear documentation of governance artifacts (policies, standards, guidance, and decision records) to support transparency and consistency. • Help define and operationalize data ownership and stewardship roles, including responsibilities and escalation paths, so data is actively managed rather than passively maintained. • Drive alignment on standard definitions (business terms, metrics, and core concepts) to reduce inconsistency across reporting and analytics. • Partner with business and technical stakeholders to ensure governance standards are practical, adoptable, and aligned to business outcomes. • Establish and monitor data quality expectations and metrics (e.g., completeness, accuracy, timeliness) and drive resolution of data issues through root-cause identification and remediation plans. • Coordinate issue intake, prioritization, tracking, and closure, ensuring repeatable remediation and reduced recurrence over time. • Provide regular reporting on data quality trends, policy adherence, and governance exceptions to stakeholders and leadership. • Promote and support metadata practices (cataloging, documentation, and lineage) that improve discoverability, traceability, and consistent use of data assets. • Partner with platform/tool owners to ensure the organization maintains a usable catalog of data assets and business definitions that can be found and understood by intended consumers. • Work with Information Security, Privacy, Risk, and Compliance partners to ensure governance expectations align with enterprise policies for appropriate access, secure usage, and regulatory compliance. • Help ensure governance includes practical controls and auditable processes for sensitive data handling, retention considerations, and policy compliance.
