Job Description
Summary
Manages insurance programs. Manages institutional liability exposures through proactive loss prevention and enterprise risk management (ERM) practices.
Essential Job Functions
- Manages the university’s insurance programs, including policy procurement, policy renewal, and negotiations with brokers and carriers
- Submits claims and coordinates with brokers, claim adjusters and carriers
- Reviews broker and carrier contracts with the Office of the General Counsel and reviews third-party contract insurance provisions for compliance
- Supports institutional risk mitigation functions, including carrier-recommended or required trainings and related functions
- Supports institutional ERM initiatives through risk identification, analysis and reporting
- Conducts ongoing department risk assessments and provides recommendations to mitigate risks
- Contributes to business continuity and emergency preparedness planning
- Performs other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of a bachelor's degree
- Moderate amount of experience working in insurance and risk management in academia or other industry related experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or greater in business or a related field of study
Compensation: $110,000 - $113,000/annualized

Preference shall be given to qualified candidates who live or relocate within a daily commuting distance of the Providence Campus location upon hire. The Patient Safety Manager will lead and oversee the full scope of patient safety operations for the Patient Safety Organization (PSO), ensuring compliance with federal listing requirements and the PSQIA.
