The Department of Economic Security, Division of Employment and Rehabilitation Services (DERS) strengthens Arizona communities by bridging and minimizing gaps to employment and independence.

DES is seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual to join our team as a Business Analysis Supervisor with the Rehabilitation Services Administration (RSA), Information Technology (IT) Unit. This position will supervise business analysts staff by defining and establishing schedules, setting priorities, providing support/direction and dealing with administrative issues as needed. This position will leads planning, organizing, and coordinating complex technical activities. This position trains staff on operational procedures and data analysis/research techniques. This position will coach team members on performance, complete employee performance evaluations and recommend pay actions.

Travel will be required for State business. Any employee operating a motor vehicle on State business must possess and retain a current, valid class-appropriate driver’s license, complete all required training, and successfully pass all necessary driver’s license record checks. The license must be current, unexpired, and neither revoked nor suspended. Employees who drive on State business are subject to driver’s license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records, and must complete all required driver training. An employee who operates a personally owned vehicle on State business shall maintain the statutorily required liability insurance (see Arizona Administrative Code [A.A.C.] R2-10-207.11).

This position may offer the ability to work remotely, within Arizona, based upon the department's business needs and continual meeting of expected performance measures.

Job Duties:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Manage the Business Analyst staff, ensuring adequate support for internal customers.
• Evaluate the work of Business Analyst staff in translating business requirements to provide RSA related reports and research.
• Collaborate with other Supervisors across agency programs to complete IT initiatives.
• Support both internal and external customers by keeping them apprised of work efforts being conducted to resolve their issues.
• Plan, supervise, and evaluate the work of the business analysts, including assignments, development, and maintenance of existing systems (including all development and project management tasks).
• Works closely with other DERS programs to meet key departmental goals and objectives.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):

• Knowledge of service offerings, customer service principles and processes, desktop applications, web-based applications, client/server applications, standard operating systems, application integrations, networking protocols and any other computer-related technologies.
• Knowledge of Project management principles and practices sufficient to determine program direction, plan work, set goals, monitor, and evaluate accomplishments.
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
• Excellent analytical/technical skills to analyze and conceptualize the needs of the programs to effectively design automated systems.
• Ability to balance, prioritize, and organize multiple tasks.
• Ability to work collaboratively in teams and across organizations.

Pre-Employment Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree plus 3 or more years of experience in a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
• Candidate shall have or meet the requirements to obtain prior to their first day of employment, a valid Level One Arizona fingerprint clearance card that meets DES requirements for a Level One card pursuant to Arizona Revised Statute 41-1969.
• Successfully pass background and reference checks; employment is contingent upon completion of the above-mentioned process and the agency’s ability to reasonably accommodate any restrictions.
• All newly hired State employees are subject to and must successfully complete the Electronic Employment Eligibility Verification Program (E-Verify).

Retirement:

State employees are required to participate in the Arizona State Retirement System (ASRS), the State sponsored retirement contribution plan and the Long-Term Disability (LTD) program after a 27-week waiting period. The ASRS defined benefit plan provides for life-long income upon retirement. You will also have the option to participate in a voluntary deferred compensation program to take advantage of tax-deferred retirement investments.
