Job Description
Shawnee Health is seeking a Billing Specialist for our Shawnee Health Remote Billing office. This position is fully remote. Directly to the Revenue Cycle Director.
- Answers incoming calls to the department
- Performs follow up for collection of insurance for Medicare, Medicaid, Commercial and self-pay claims in an accurate and timely manner.
- High School Diploma
- Must live within a 50-mile radius of Carterville, Illinois
- Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid and Commercial billing guidelines preferred

The Billing Specialist is responsible for generating invoices, maintaining billing records, resolving discrepancies, and ensuring timely processing in line with company policies and contract terms. Key duties include reviewing billing data for accuracy, monitoring accounts receivable, and assisting with month-end closing processes.
