Job Duties & Responsibilities
Education & Experience
-
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Accounting, Finance, Business, or a closely related field (required).
-
5 -8 years of audit experience (internal, compliance, or operational) is required.
-
Experience in construction auditing, including analysis of construction contracts, change orders, subcontractor billing, and project controls.
Technical Expertise
-
Strong understanding of construction programs, project controls, and cost estimation to identify opportunities for scope expansion and improved client outcomes.
-
Solid grasp of accounting principles, including cost accounting, allocations, overhead, manufacturing costs, general ledger, and financial statements.
-
Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Excel and/or Access, with the ability to manage and analyze large data sets effectively.
Leadership & Team Development
-
Lead, motivate, and develop a remote team of professionals, ensuring exceptional service delivery across diverse client portfolios.

Assign responsibilities effectively, assess skill sets, mentor team members, and guide negotiations to achieve successful outcomes.

Collaborate with leadership to define team goals, track progress, and present key outcomes to senior management.
Financial Management

Drive profitability by ensuring accurate revenue tracking, cost control, and high team utilization.

Maintain precise financial forecasts and deliver timely, data-driven performance reports.
Strategic Planning & Innovation

Contribute to the vision and execution of audit technology initiatives, enhancing efficiency and client value through innovation.

Participate in developing and implementing strategic plans aligned with business objectives.
Business & Financial Acumen

Knowledge of payroll, insurance, employee benefits, internal controls, and common business practices.

Ability to assess operational processes and internal controls, identify gaps or inefficiencies, and recommend actionable improvements.
Communication & Reporting

Deliver clear, concise, and professional business reports.

Maintain excellent interpersonal and presentation skills for effective collaboration with clients, vendors, and internal teams.
Additional Expertise

Experience in procurement and/or contract management is a plus.

Exposure to project controls, estimating, or related industry functions is preferred.

Professional certifications such as CPA, CIA, or CISA are advantageous.
Knowledge and Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.

Experience: 8-10 years of relevant audit experience.
