Job Description
At Pencil, we are driving innovation in advertising technology through our state-of-the-art SaaS product, which harnesses Generative AI to redefine content creation. Our mission is to make AI the default in advertising without replacing creative people. To achieve this, we need to make sure that our technology isn’t just in the hands of big brands - we need to try to help small businesses and creative individuals too.
You’ll be the bridge between client imagination and product innovation. Your mission is to turn business challenges into powerful creative strategies whilst staying grounded in what our GenAI platform can do today, and inspired by what it’ll do tomorrow. You’ll translate client goals into actionable, product-led creative opportunities that make them say, “Wait, we can do that?!”
You’ll shape the future of how clients use our tools, from spotting use cases, inspiring creative applications, to guiding our product and creative teams toward smarter, more impactful work.
You’ve built a career at the intersection of creative strategy, technology, and innovation, ideally in an agency environment. Experience in SaaS would be a bonus.
You understand how to connect business problems with creative and technical solutions, and can communicate those ideas clearly to both clients and internal teams.
You’re fluent in AI and digital-first creative thinking, and you stay ahead of trends in GenAI and content automation.
You can work independently on complex, high impact projects, using your judgment to select the best approach and drive results.
You thrive on reducing complexity, finding elegant, automated, or repeatable ways to solve challenges.
You’re confident advising others and shaping decisions that impact multiple teams.
You have experience mentoring and guiding Creatives and Strategists, and you enjoy lifting others up.
You’re proactive about researching and implementing new tools, systems, or methods to keep us ahead of the curve.

Lead, coach, and grow Creative Strategists, fostering excellence, collaboration, and innovation.
Mentor and inspire others, sharing expertise and building capability across creative and strategy teams.
Continuously improve processes, finding smarter, faster, or more scalable ways to deliver impact.

Growth in the number and quality of client briefs led by strategic insight.

Client feedback and satisfaction with creative strategy outputs.
Measurable uplift in campaign performance or creative effectiveness driven by your strategies.
Operational excellence:
Improved speed and scalability of creative-to-product collaboration.
Implementation of new systems or processes that reduce manual effort or complexity.
Consistent delivery of projects on time, with clear communication and minimal escalation.
Leadership & culture:
Mentorship feedback from junior strategists or creatives.
Contribution to cross-team collaboration and company wide initiatives.
Active demonstration of company values and leadership behaviors.
