Job Description
Title: Growth Manager, CA and CO
Department: Growth Team
Location: Remote, California-based
Travel: Regular travel within CA and periodic travel to CO, plus occasional national travel as needed (approximately 30%-50% travel, depending on the time of year)
The Position
The Manager of Growth (CA and CO) serves as Reach University’s lead market-builder in California and Colorado — a visible, field-oriented network builder who expands our presence, cultivates high-trust relationships, and turns opportunity into sustained partnership. This leader drives Reach’s growth strategy across Reach Teachers College (RTC) programs, including Colorado undergraduate offerings and California undergraduate and graduate pathways. The majority of the Manager’s time and attention will be focused on California.
The Manager of Growth is energized by Reach’s North Star — pioneering pathways to upward mobility through higher education in the workplace — and brings authenticity and conviction to every conversation, helping secure new employer partners who collaborate with Reach to expand career opportunity within their communities.
Most RTC employer partners are public school districts. Reach also partners with charters, non-profits, and other educational institutions to support their staff to earn degrees and credentials. The Growth Manager drives the early phases of the employer partner lifecycle. This includes building awareness, generating qualified leads, converting new partners through MOU execution, and launching new partners through onboarding and an initial candidate recruitment info session.
This role is a natural connector — someone who thrives in conversation, builds credibility quickly, and represents Reach’s apprenticeship model with clarity, conviction, and energy. Whether presenting to district leaders, meeting with HR teams, or following up with prospective partners, this leader translates Reach’s mission into compelling, actionable partnerships that produce candidate pipelines and long-term collaboration. In California, this role requires strong fluency in credentialing pathways to ensure that outreach, recruitment messaging, and partner guidance are accurate, strategic, and aligned to program realities.
The Manager of Growth also leads and coordinates regional ambassador contractors who expand Reach’s visibility, generate referrals, and support event-based outreach. This role blends external relationship-building with disciplined execution — ensuring that opportunities move cleanly through pipeline stages and transition effectively to Employer Success and internal teams.
This position requires a dynamic leader who thrives at the intersection of strategy, employer partner expansion, and human connection — someone energized by being in the field, building trust, and turning conversations into sustained institutional partnerships.
Qualifications & Preferred BackgroundExtensive experience in growth, partnerships, recruitment, enrollment, or related external-facing roles.
Experience in district or county office of education leadership (preferred)
Demonstrated familiarity with California educator credentialing context (district HR processes, pathway eligibility, intern/induction environments, or closely adjacent work).
Strong presentation skills and comfort leading new partner conversations through commitment.
Experience managing contractors or external representatives with clear scopes and accountability.
Proficiency with CRM systems (HubSpot preferred) and comfort working from dashboards and pipeline reports.
Experience with educator preparation programs, school systems, or job-embedded learning models.
Familiarity with Colorado educator workforce environments and district partnership dynamics.
Comfort with frequent travel and occasional evening/weekend work during peak conference and recruiting seasons.
Qualified leads generated (events + ambassador referrals).
MOUs signed and cycle time from first meeting to signature.
Partners onboarded and first candidate info session delivered on time.
Handoff quality (clean ownership, complete launch details, minimal rework).
Pipeline accuracy and activity logged in HubSpot.
1) Field Presence and Conferences (Awareness)
Attend and represent Reach at conferences, convenings, and partner events in CA and CO to build recognition of the apprenticeship degree model and Teachers College programs and connect with new prospective partners (expect to spend an average of 2-3 days/week meeting with district leaders at their offices, attending conferences and job fairs, and other in-person events).
Set a simple event strategy (where we show up, target audiences, follow-up plan) that converts interest into qualified next steps.
Share field insights with Marketing and internal teams to improve messaging and reduce confusion.
Apply California credentialing context in how we describe pathways, eligibility, and timelines so expectations are accurate from the first touch.
Manage and supervise contractors who act as regional ambassadors to expand Reach’s visibility and refer new leads.
Define scopes, targets, and coverage by season and geography; ensure consistent follow-through and quality.
Equip contractors with credentialing-informed messaging (CA) and clear guidance on what to say, what not to say, and when to escalate questions.
Keep lead capture and handoffs clean in HubSpot (partner CRM) so referrals are durable and trackable.
Conduct discovery and new partner presentations that move prospects to signed MOUs.
Translate California credentialing constraints into clear partner expectations (pathway fit, candidate eligibility, recruitment timelines), and flag risks early.
Coordinate with Academics/Clinical/Credentialing Operations and other stakeholders to align partnership scope, capacity, and program requirements.
Lead new partners through Reach’s onboarding process, ensuring recruitment plans are not only designed but operationalized and producing candidate pipelines.
Deliver (or coordinate) the initial candidate recruitment info session as the formal handoff milestone to Employer Success.
Ensure the handoff package is complete and accurate, including any CA-specific pathway requirements and open questions routed to the right team.
Lead a high-performing Growth team within the assigned region. Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, learning, and results aligned with the broader university's core values.
Participate as an active member of Growth, Employer Lifecycle, Operations, and other university teams, bringing data-driven insights to drive continuous improvement and refine processes and strategies.
Collaborate closely with Candidate and Employer Success, Admissions & Enrollment, Academics, Legal, and Marketing to align targets, handoffs, and execution.
Contribute in staff meetings, committees, or work teams as necessary
