As a newly created role, you’ll step in ready to address growth-related challenges while strengthening the systems, processes, and team that support Amara’s expanding operations. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex problems, optimizing workflows, and rolling up their sleeves to drive results. Responsibilities:

  • Track, analyze, and report on key operational KPIs including order accuracy, inventory accuracy, cost per unit shipped, on-time delivery rates, and 3PL performance
  • Troubleshoot system and operational issues impacting fulfillment and logistics workflows
  • Monitor D2C fulfillment performance and closely manage Walmart outbound operations, including oversight of the fix-it portal
  • Optimize shipping methods and costs by auditing freight charges, reviewing carrier bills, and identifying savings opportunities
  • Manage claims, damaged shipments, and reverse logistics processes to minimize loss and improve customer outcomes
  • Lead process improvement initiatives to improve on-time delivery, reduce shipping damage and errors, and quickly identify and resolve operational issues
  • Analyze operational trends and performance data to uncover improvement opportunities and operational risks
  • Provide data-driven insights and recommendations to leadership to support operational and strategic decisions
  • Streamline workflows to eliminate bottlenecks and support scalable growth
  • Create, document, and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for logistics, inventory, and fulfillment processes

Qualifications

  • Experience managing and evaluating 3PL partners, with a track record of holding providers accountable to performance, accuracy, and service standards
  • CPG industry experience with an understanding of lot tracking, compliance requirements, inventory velocity, and the operational nuances of consumer packaged goods
  • Proven ability to scale logistics, inventory, and fulfillment operations in a high-growth environment
  • Direct experience with retailers like Target, Walmart, and Costco
  • Hands-on problem solver who proactively tackles challenges and drives solutions
  • Comfortable operating both strategically (improving systems and processes) and tactically (diving into details when needed)
  • Thoughtful leader who leads by example, communicates effectively across teams and external partners, and operates well in fast-paced, ambiguous environments
  • Self-starter who can quickly ramp up, identify priorities, and drive progress independently
  • Data-driven decision maker who uses metrics and analysis to guide operational improvements
  • Experience with inventory management systems (Cin7 experience a plus)
  • Working knowledge of EDI and experience coordinating with EDI providers
  • Familiarity with TMS, WMS, and 3PL management portals
