Role Description

At OncoveryCare, we have a firsthand understanding of the impact of cancer on one’s mental health and wellbeing, and are committed to supporting our patients with trauma-informed and evidence-based mental health care. As a Survivorship Behavioral Health Clinician , you will play a central role in the lives of our patients as they navigate the mental health challenges that can come with cancer survivorship. Through individual and group therapy sessions, you will build strong and supportive patient relationships at a key moment of need for our survivors. We believe mental and physical health are intricately connected, and as our behavioral health clinician, you will collaborate closely on patient care within our multidisciplinary team which includes survivorship MDs, NPs, care navigators and peer guides.

We prioritize equipping our clinicians with the necessary tools and resources to deliver exceptional patient care. To support this, our care team is supported by a robust clinical operations team that assists with admin and billing, custom tools to streamline care delivery and documentation, and consultation from clinical leadership. Additionally, you will have access to vetted referral partners and community resources to facilitate seamless transitions of care for your patients. You will also have an opportunity to help shape the future landscape of survivorship care through working closely with executive leadership on program delivery and patient experience.

Active New York license required.

  • Deliver Therapy: Administer evidence-based individualized and group survivorship therapy protocols to cancer survivors.
  • Personalized Care Delivery: Collaborate closely with other members of the survivorship care team to identify and address patients’ mental health needs in the context of their individual history and unique experiences, promoting a holistic and integrated approach to survivorship care.
  • Participate in Collaborative Care: Support the implementation of an innovative cancer survivorship collaborative care program (CoCM), championing the integration of mental health support within the broader care model.
  • Care Planning: Support the care team in developing comprehensive care plans, providing expertise in behavioral health interventions where applicable to ensure holistic patient support.
  • Education Guidance: Deliver psychoeducation to survivors and their families, utilizing evidence-based OncoveryCare educational content and cutting-edge resources on survivorship care.

How You’ll Thrive

  • Within the first 90 days: You will onboard with our clinical care team, engaging with executive leadership and healthcare providers focused on the physical and mental health of cancer survivors. You will become familiar with the OncoveryCare philosophy, technology platform and our integrated approach to survivorship, and begin conducting virtual visits with patients.
  • Within the first year: You will establish robust relationships with OncoveryCare patients and providers. You will develop proficiency in delivering individual and group therapy to survivors, gaining a comprehensive understanding of the referral partner landscape in patients' local communities. You will also provide critical insights to OncoveryCare’s leadership and clinical team, contributing to ongoing enhancement of our program delivery and protocols.
  • Long-term growth opportunity: You will have the chance to rapidly progress within a dynamic startup and play a pivotal role in the design and delivery of survivorship care programs for cancer survivors.
