Role Description

You are a thoughtful, considerate and insightful human being who enjoys helping small business owners understand, interpret and make courageous decisions based on what their financial statements are saying, instead of allowing their feelings to run the show.

  • Educate clients and connect the dots between their financials and motivations.
  • Question client beliefs and challenge their assumptions.
  • Communicate effectively and take personal responsibility.
  • Analyze and explain financial statements, spotting problems and opportunities.
  • Work remotely with up to 30 clients, meeting twice a month for about an hour each.
  • Function as the CFO for clients, helping them make informed decisions.

Qualifications

  • Strong background in financial and/or accounting roles.
  • Business degree, preferably with an emphasis in accounting or finance.
  • Hands-on experience advising small business owners.
  • Ability to explain financial concepts in plain English.
  • Experience with FP&A and creating budgets and financial forecasts.

Requirements

  • Must be able to spot and explain sources & uses of cash.
  • Recognize risks of non-compliance with federal & state remittances.
  • Identify deficiencies in performance on the P&L and present corrective approaches.
  • Ability to persuade clients to invest in best practices regarding financial controls.
  • Must thrive in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment.

Benefits

  • Base salary of $110,000 with performance-based compensation up to $180,000.
  • Generous benefits package including medical, dental & vision for you & your family covered at 75%.
  • Short-term & long-term disability insurance at no cost.
  • Up to 3.5% match on your 401K.
  • Unlimited PTO and additional week off per year.
