About the Role:
We’re looking for a Director, Patient & Professional Advocacy, Market Development to help us expand what’s possible for patients with serious diseases. Reporting to the VP, Patient Advocacy, the Director, Patient & Professional Advocacy, Market Development will play a pivotal role in transforming how Insmed partners with patient organizations, professional medical associations, and other consensus-based groups to advance science with a focus on patient-centric outcomes. Your primary goal will be to lead the design and execution of innovative, high-impact collaborations focused on accelerating the identification and diagnosis of bronchiectasis, particularly within COPD, asthma, and other chronic lung disease populations.This role will work at the intersection of patient advocacy organizations, professional medical societies, and clinical communities to improve disease recognition, enable earlier diagnosis, and support the identification of under-diagnosed patient populations. Over time, the role will expand to support the diagnosis and education efforts across the broader medical community.
This position is entirely focused on co-creating novel approaches to engagement, data generation, digital enablement and systems-level collaboration in partnership with consensus-based organizations. It is not a traditional sponsorship or program management role, but a strategic forward-thinking position centered around meaningful ecosystem building and transformative impact.
What You'll Do:
In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to develop and lead an external partnership strategy focused on novel collaborations with consensus-based organizations to educate and accelerate the diagnosis of chronic respiratory conditions. You’ll also:
Build and manage relationships with patient advocacy organizations in respiratory and chronic lung disease, professional societies (e.g., pulmonary, primary care, respiratory therapy, etc.), clinical networks, and community-based organizations.
Co-develop initiatives that improve awareness, screening, referral pathways, and diagnostic practices.
Design and implement partnerships focused on case-finding and screening initiatives; clinical education tied to diagnostic pathways; real-world data and insights generation; integration of diagnostic tools and guidelines into clinical practice; and piloting & scaling new approaches to identifying undiagnosed or misdiagnosed patients.
Partner closely within the functional team as well as cross-functionally with Medical Affairs, Commercial, Market Access, Clinical Development, and Data/Analytics teams.
Ensure alignment between external partnerships and internal brand, scientific, and access strategies.
Translate external insights into actionable recommendations for internal stakeholders.
Manage complex budgets and external investment.
Collaborate and serve as functional expert on cross functional Global Program Teams, partnering with Clinical Development, Core Medical Affairs, Regulatory, Corporate Communications, Human Resources, Legal, and Compliance to ensure that Insmed’s core values and corporate brand are represented in internal and external initiatives.
Foster a collaborative and supportive team culture to achieve patient-centric goals.
Who You Are:
You must have 10+ years’ experience in Patient Advocacy or external research in the respiratory & inflammation therapeutic area, or closely related roles within the biotechnology and pharmaceutical healthcare industries. Additionally, you have:
Deep understanding of respiratory disease, including Bronchiectasis, COPD, Asthma, ILDs, with an ability to communicate complex scientific concepts effectively and translate science to diverse audiences.
Strong collaborator with pro-active approach and track record of performance in developing and driving strategic projects, including managing budgets.
Demonstrated ability to interact successfully in a dynamic and culturally diverse workplace.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with patients, advocacy groups, and internal stakeholders effectively.
Demonstrated peer leadership experience and ability to inspire and motivate in a matrixed team.
Knowledge of regulatory and ethical considerations related to patient advocacy and engagement.
Familiarity/experience with regulatory and pharmaceutical legal promotional review processes
Passion for making a difference in the lives of patients with serious and rare disease with a deep empathy for patients and their families, and an ability to translate the lived experience into our programs.
Acute organizational skills with a strong attention to detail, clarity, accuracy, and conciseness.
Nice to have (but not required):
Advanced degree (MBA PharmD, PhD, MD) strongly preferred.

This is a fully remote role. It can be performed effectively from anywhere while staying connected to your Insmed team and community. Occasional travel for team meetings or events may be expected.
