Expected pay for this position is $18.80 - $22.12/hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity. This is an Hourly position.

POSITION SUMMARY:

 

The Patient Accounts Associate is responsible for the billing, payment posting, or collection of accounts receivable for professional and/or hospital claims within the Revenue Cycle. This position requires basic understanding of the Revenue Cycle and the importance of evaluating and securing all appropriate financial resources for patients to maximize reimbursement to the health system. This individual must also have basic knowledge of, healthcare revenue cycle functions, and general office procedures. They must be capable of communicating clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing, with peers, supervisors, payors, physicians, patients, and other departments.


Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Education: High School Diploma/ GED

 

Experience: Minimum of one year revenue cycle experience including billing, claim follow-up, registration, payment posting, or patient financial services.

 

Licensure/ Certification: Required completion of all revenue cycle training within 12 months of hire.

 

Other Skills/ Knowledge:

 

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Solid computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft software. Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to be detail oriented.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Education: N/A

 

Experience: Three years in a health care revenue cycle setting. Experience with professional and/or hospital billing, including working with insurance companies, third party administrators, and collections with heavy emphasis on customer phone contact.

 

Licensure/ Certification: N/A

 

Other Skills/ Knowledge: Advanced knowledge of CPT4, ICD9/10, HCPCS, and modifiers. Knowledge of medical terminology.
