Job Requirements
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an American Bar Association (ABA) approved law school
- 2 or more years of experience as an in-house health care attorney with a clinical reference laboratory or ancillary provider, health plan or payor or health system
- 2 or more years of experience with payor/provider contracts review, drafting and negotiation
- 2 or more years of experience with federal and state laws and regulations with commercial and federal and state governmental health insurers and plans, including provider contracts, networks, claims, reimbursement and denials
- Admission to the state bar where practicing
- General knowledge of healthcare-related laws and regulations applicable to provider contracts and transactions involving ancillary providers, health plans or other payors, IPAs and healthcare systems
- Knowledge of applicable compliance laws, such as Stark, Anti-Kickback, HIPAA
- Strong attention to detail, with ability to summarize key issues clearly and succinctly for Labcorp management
- Excellent interpersonal and communications skills
- Ability to quickly grasp new concepts, information, and nuances in connection with managed care law and related operational issues
- Proficiency with legal research tools and analysis
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
