Job Description
About Nema Health
Nema Health is a survivor- and clinician-led virtual treatment program for PTSD and trauma. Nema provides virtual, evidence-based treatment that helps people feel better faster—and stay better longer. We are committed to delivering care that’s accessible, trauma-specialized, and deeply patient-centered.
At Nema, we offer employees an unparalleled career opportunity: the chance to be part of a mission-driven company while shaping its future during a pivotal stage of growth. If you’re someone who thrives in fast-moving environments, values systems thinking, and cares deeply about expanding access to mental health care, you could be a great fit.
About the Role: Strategic Operations Manager
We are hiring an early-career Strategic Operations Manager to report to our Director of Strategic Operations and drive high-priority, cross-functional workstreams critical to Nema’s growth. This generalist operator will partner across teams to execute key initiatives, improve internal processes, and help ensure we scale efficiently and effectively.
The Strategic Operations team exists to turn Nema’s goals and strategy into executable, scalable reality. We tackle high-leverage, cross-functional initiatives that are too complex, ambiguous, or novel to sit cleanly within any one function. Focusing on new services, new markets, and internal strategic initiatives, you will coordinate across operations, product, clinical, and growth teams to bring a cross-functional lens to scoping, alignment, and execution.
This is a dynamic role that balances strategic prioritization with excellent project management and tactical execution. You will be accountable for the end-to-end execution of initiatives from strategy and planning to launch and early scaling.
Key Responsibilities:
Support the Director of Strategic Operations. Work together on key company initiatives including the development of Nema’s recovery phase and other expansion efforts
Scope New Expansion Opportunities. Create evaluation frameworks to identify, scope, and prioritize the highest impact expansion projects across new models of care, geographic markets, and patient populations
Own New Initiative Launches. Drive execution of new launches, leveraging strong project management skills, rigorous data analysis, and excellent cross-functional communication and coordination
Building Scalable Infrastructure. Designing and implementing the 'v1' of critical company functions—from compliance frameworks to company goal-setting —ensuring Nema is built to scale
What You’ll Achieve:
In the first 3 months, you will:
Build strong relationships with ops team members and key cross-functional partners across clinical, product, and growth teams
Deep dive and develop a clear understanding of our business model, expansion opportunities, key performance indicators, and current roadmap
Take ownership of a high-priority workstream (e.g., new internal ops function standup or managing pilot program)
Bring more structure and analysis to key initiatives to increase team velocity and clarity
Actively contribute to company goal-setting processes (OKRs), ensuring operational targets are ambitious yet achievable
In the first 6 months, you will:
Lead end-to-end launch of a major initiative –such as a new market expansion or core internal process improvement– and document the “v1” playbook for future scale
Support the strategic roadmapping and research for Nema’s Rise program, identifying the operational requirements for long-term success
Serve as a trusted thought partner for other stakeholders across the business, providing data-driven insights that help teams across the business make better decisions
In the first 12 months, you will:
Become a go-to operational partner for the organization and serve as an internal subject matter expert on Nema’s operational architecture
Demonstrate a clear link between your operational improvements and company-wide goals around growth and efficiency
Proactively identify, pitch, and scope the next key initiatives for expansion based on market data and internal performance trends you’ve managed over the year
Contribute meaningfully to the design of the Operations team and the communication loops that keep the entire company in sync
Qualifications:
You’ll be a great fit it you:
Have 3+ years of prior experience in consulting, strategy, operations, or a similarly rigorous, problem-solving environment
You have a 'no task too small' mentality combined with 'no problem too big' strategic thinking. You’re as comfortable debugging a landing page as you are presenting a 12-month expansion strategy
Have worked within healthcare and understand the system generally
Comfortable with ambiguity, willing to roll up your sleeves, and energized by building from the ground up
Demonstrated ability to use data to drive operational decision-making
Successfully executed high priority projects end-to-end from concept to implementation with cross-functional collaboration
Are resourceful, persistent, and solutions-oriented
Take ownership of outcomes - not just tasks
Bonus, if you have:
Experience in behavioral health or care delivery services more generally
Exposure to early-stage startups or high-growth environments
Experience working in a consulting firm or business operations
Why Join Nema
We are a growing team of clinicians and operators united by a shared mission: to reduce suffering for people with PTSD and other trauma related disorders. As part of Nema, you’ll help build a company where both patients and employees can thrive.
