PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The NRMCA Director, Sustainability Programs leads the administration, growth, and market expansion of NRMCA's sustainability services portfolio, including Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs), Concrete Sustainability Council (CSC) certifications, Health Product Declarations (HPDs), and related future offerings. This position is responsible for program delivery, member engagement, revenue growth, benchmarking, partner coordination, and development of new sustainability services that strengthen member value and expand concrete's competitive position in the marketplace.
- Assist in the development and implement a growth strategy of NRMCA's sustainability services including EPDs, CSC, HPDs, and future offerings.
- Create member tools, training, and resources that improve participation in sustainability programs and certifications.
- Collect, analyze, and report industry sustainability data to establish benchmarks, track trends, and support market insights.
- Identify new sustainability-related products, services, and revenue opportunities for members and external stakeholders.
- Build and manage relationships with program operators, verifiers, software providers, owners, designers, and other key sustainability organizations.
- Coordinate with membership, promotion, communications, and government affairs teams to integrate sustainability programs into broader association strategy.
- Support development of digital systems and process improvements that streamline submissions, reporting, invoicing, publishing, and customer service.
- Prepare plans, budgets, dashboards, and performance reports for sustainability programs, including revenue, participation, and customer feedback.
- Represent NRMCA in sustainability-focused industry forums and partnerships as assigned.
- Develop case studies and market-facing resources that help members use sustainability and certifications in business development.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Gather and analyze data and generate reports.
- Create, compose, and edit written materials.
- Gather data, compile information, and prepare reports.
- Analyze and solve problems.
- Use tools such as office productivity software.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in environmental science, business, engineering, or a related field.
- Knowledge of concrete, sustainability and life cycle assessment.
- 5+ years of experience in sustainability, revenue management, or related consulting roles.
- Strong ability to analyze data, identify trends, and calculate ROI for sustainability initiatives.
- Financial Acumen and proficiency in budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
- Knowledge of office productivity software (Outlook, Google Docs, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Project Management Professional certification a plus.
PHYSICAL REQUIRMENTS:
- Position requires travel (15-25%).
- Pack and ship heavy printed material and other supplies (50 lbs.).
- Work from home office located reasonably close to a major airport in the United States.
