Job summary
The Principal Solutions Executive – Data Center is a presales, consultative role responsible for originating, qualifying, and shaping enterprise data center opportunities across CDW’s Hybrid Infrastructure portfolio. This role partners closely with Sales to drive demand generation, advance qualified opportunities through discovery, and position CDW’s data center capabilities around customer business outcomes. The Principal Solutions Executive focuses on opportunity shaping and executive engagement. The role collaborates with Solution Architects, Professional Services Managers, and partners to ensure proposed solutions are feasible, differentiated, and aligned to CDW delivery capabilities.
What you will do
• Originate, qualify, and shape enterprise data center opportunities across compute, storage, virtualization, backup, power and cooling, and modernization initiatives
• Drive demand generation for complex, services-led data center initiatives including consolidation, transformation, and hybrid infrastructure expansion
• Partner with Enterprise Sales leadership on account planning, opportunity strategy, and pursuit execution
• Engage early in the sales cycle to convert leads into qualified opportunities through consultative discovery and outcome-based positioning
• Serve as a trusted advisor to IT leadership, infrastructure, operations, and data center teams
• Articulate CDW’s data center value proposition and partner ecosystem to executive and technical audiences
• Identify cross-sell and upsell opportunities across Hybrid Infrastructure and broader CDW portfolios
• Collaborate with Solution Architects, Professional Services Managers, and partners to align customer needs with delivery capabilities
• Participate in customer meetings, executive briefings, industry events, and thought-leadership engagements
• Maintain accurate opportunity and activity documentation in CRM tools
What we expect of you
• Bachelor’s degree and 10+ years of experience in data center infrastructure, presales, infrastructure consulting, or technology sales support, OR 14+ years of equivalent experience
• Deep knowledge of enterprise data center technologies and modernization strategies
• Proven consultative selling and opportunity shaping experience
• Strong executive communication skills
• Demonstrated success collaborating across internal and partner teams
• Experience supporting large Enterprise accounts, is a plus.
• Familiarity with leading data center OEMs and partner ecosystems, is a plus.
• Track record of driving growth through opportunity shaping, is a plus.
Pay range: $113,525 - $158,925 depending on experience and skill set
Annual bonus target of 66.67% subject to terms and conditions of plan
