Job Description
Part Time Switchboard Operator - Remote After 1 month training period
Position Highlights:
- Hours: Friday 9a - 1p, Saturday and Sunday 8a - 5p
Training onsite at Corporate Office in Downers Grove for 4 weeks
- Training Hours for the first 2 weeks is Full Time Monday through Friday 8:30a-5p
- Remote offered after completion of training program

Switchboard Operator is responsible for answering phones, directing calls, contacting providers, and handling basic patient scheduling questions.
Responsibilities
- Handling inbound Contact Center interactions (phone, email, MyChart, TOC, faxes, etc.)
- Approximately 180 - 300 inbound calls
- Follow HIPAA policy and procedures
- Understand and support the department policies and procedures
- Paging of clinical staff
- Follow paging protocols
- Answer basic scheduling related questions i.e. directions to site, site hours, provider info, requests for MyChart login
- Verifying and cancelling appointments
- Escalation of clinical patient inquires when necessary to appropriate physician site/department
Qualifications
Education
- High School diploma or GED required
- Excellent communication and organization skills
- Previous call center and/or medical scheduling experience preferred
- Knowledge of healthcare terminology a plus
- Basic computer program and keyboard typing knowledge
Years of Experience
- One to two years of successful call center or scheduling in a healthcare central scheduling department ideal.
- Experience in typing, use of keyboard and computer entry.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Word and windows-based programs.
The compensation for this role includes a base pay range of $16.30-$24.50, with the actual pay determined by factors such as skills, experience, education, certifications, geographic location, and internal equity. Additional compensation may be available through shift differentials, bonuses, and other incentives. Base pay is only a portion of the total rewards package.
