Job Description
Role Description
We are seeking a US Tax Accountant with experience in foreign-owned LLC taxation to support international founders with US tax filings, compliance, and advisory. In this role, you will work closely with clients to ensure they remain compliant with IRS reporting requirements while providing guidance on US tax exposure and proper business structuring. You will also play a key role in helping establish and manage a new tax function within the company, with opportunities for growth as the department expands.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and file Form 5472 with Pro Forma 1120 for foreign-owned LLCs
- Prepare Form 1040-NR for non-resident individuals when applicable
- File Form 1065 for multi-member LLCs
- Prepare Form 8832 for entity classification elections when required
- Assist with Form 2553 for S-Corp elections when applicable
- Prepare Form 7004 extensions when necessary
- Ensure compliance with foreign-owned LLC reporting requirements, related party transaction reporting, and IRS deadlines
- Support compliance with Wyoming and Delaware state requirements
- Assist with BOI / FinCEN reporting obligations
- Advise clients on US Trade or Business (USTB), Effectively Connected Income (ECI), and non-resident tax exposure
- Guide founders on proper US LLC structuring and avoiding permanent establishment risks
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in US LLC taxation, particularly with foreign-owned entities
- Experience preparing Form 5472 filings and Pro Forma 1120
- Experience working with foreign-owned disregarded entities and multi-member LLCs
- Experience advising non-US founders or international businesses on US tax compliance
- Knowledge of US Trade or Business (USTB), Effectively Connected Income (ECI), and non-resident tax exposure
- Understanding of foreign-owned LLC reporting rules and related party transaction reporting
- Familiarity with Wyoming and Delaware LLC compliance requirements
- Experience with accounting and tax software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Zoho Books, Drake, UltraTax, or TaxAct
- Bonus: experience supporting eCommerce businesses, payment processors (Stripe/PayPal), sales tax vs income tax rules, or international tax treaties
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and client communication skills
