Role Description
We are sharing a specialised part-time consulting opportunity for Norwegian language experts with strong translation, legal language, and written communication skills. This role supports collaborations with leading AI research laboratories working to improve advanced AI systems through legal language evaluation, annotation, cultural nuance review, and quality assurance for Norwegian.
Selected professionals will help evaluate AI-generated legal content, identify linguistic and contextual errors, provide structured feedback on fluency and legal appropriateness, and contribute to improving the overall quality and reliability of multilingual AI systems.
Key Responsibilities

Language Evaluation & Annotation
- Review, evaluate, and annotate AI-generated text in Norwegian for accuracy, fluency, and legal alignment.
- Assess grammar, syntax, semantics, style, and tone across legal and language-focused tasks.
- Identify subtle linguistic, contextual, and legal issues in model outputs.

Linguistic Review & Feedback
- Provide expert feedback to improve the quality and consistency of AI-generated legal content.
- Help define language-specific edge cases, ambiguities, and usage patterns.
- Support the refinement of linguistic rules and legal language evaluation criteria.

Guideline Development & Documentation
- Develop and improve guidelines to ensure consistency across language review workflows.
- Contribute to structured documentation that supports scalable linguistic quality assurance.
- Help standardise best practices for evaluating Norwegian-language legal AI outputs.

Collaboration with AI Research Teams
- Collaborate with researchers and engineers to identify language-specific and legal-domain challenges.
- Suggest improvements for datasets, legal terminology coverage, and model behaviour.
- Contribute domain expertise to help strengthen multilingual AI performance in legal contexts.
Qualifications
- Native-level proficiency in Norwegian and strong fluency in English.
- Strong grasp of grammar, syntax, semantics, and stylistics in Norwegian.
- Ability to identify and correct subtle linguistic, contextual, and legal nuances.
- Bachelor's degree in Linguistics, Translation, Legal Studies, or a related field.
- Strong written communication skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to provide structured, analytical feedback on legal language quality.
Requirements
- Legal background or experience working with legal translation, legal documentation, or legal content review.
- Advanced degree in Linguistics, Translation, Law, or a related field.
- Prior experience in linguistic annotation, translation, localisation, or content review.
- Familiarity with AI, NLP, or language technologies.
- Experience developing language guidelines, evaluation rubrics, or documentation.
- Comfort working independently in remote, project-based environments.
