Job Description:

Akkodis is seeking a Senior Network Engineer for a Contract with a client in Plano, TX(Hybrid). The ideal candidate with deep expertise in Cisco Nexus, Fortinet, and hybrid Azure connectivity-an essential qualification for leading secure, enterprise‑level network environments.

Rate Range: $54/hour to $60/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Senior Network Engineer job responsibilities include:

• Design, implement, and support enterprise data center network infrastructure, including Cisco Nexus switching, routing, and high‑availability architectures.

• Manage and administer Fortinet FortiGate and Palo Alto firewalls, handling security policies, VPNs, NAT, and traffic inspection.

• Configure and maintain hybrid cloud connectivity using Azure ExpressRoute and VPN to ensure secure, reliable integration with on‑premises data centers.

• Troubleshoot complex network, firewall, and cloud connectivity issues impacting servers, applications, and database systems.

• Monitor network performance and health using observability tools, conducting routing validation, traffic path analysis, and root cause analysis.

• Collaborate with cloud, security, and infrastructure teams to support enterprise operations and ensure secure, optimized application traffic flows.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related engineering discipline.

• 10+ years of hands‑on experience in enterprise network engineering, data center networking, and secure hybrid‑cloud environments.

• Strong expertise in Cisco Nexus switching, Layer 2/3 networking, and routing protocols such as BGP and OSPF.

• Proven experience managing Fortinet FortiGate and Palo Alto firewalls, along with Azure ExpressRoute hybrid connectivity.

Pay Details: $54.00 to $60.00 per hour
