Job Responsibilities
Job Summary
The Clinical Communications Director will lead internal communications for our global Clinical business. This role will serve as the chief communications strategist to our Chief Operating Officer (COO) – shaping the narrative, building clarity and alignment and strengthening how Clinical colleagues connect to strategy, culture and performance expectations. It will lead the planning and execution of integrated communication programs that our strategic priorities to life and elevate the employee experience across a complex, fast-moving, and highly matrixed organization. This role is ideal for an experienced communications leader who blends business acumen, creative storytelling, executive advising, change leadership and digital fluency and who thrives at the intersection of strategy, cuture and execution.
Core Responsibilities
• Build and own the annual integrated communications strategy for the Clinical business inclusiveof strategic priorities, and employee engagement initiatives and associated metrics to demonstrate activation and impact.
• Determine appropriate internal communications cadence and employee activation initiatives to drive engagement not limited to Town Halls and other potential communication vehicles that connect leaders to our employees in meaningful and impactful ways.
• Create and manage a comprehensive Clinical communications calendar, ensuring alignment across business priorities, global initiatives, and employee engagement needs.
• Develop high quality content – emails, scripts, talking points, presentations, video briefs, toolkits – that is clear, concise, and compelling.
• Serve as the primary communications advisor to the COO and Clinical Leadership team, partnering closely on message development, communication moments, and leader engagement.
Champion communication excellence and alignment across the Clinical leadership ecosystem.
• Coach and support Clinical senior leaders in delivering compelling, clear and confident communication aligned to organizational priorities.
• Build dashboards and analytics mechanisms to measure communication reach, sentiment, engagement and action.
• Provide data-driven insights and recommendations to leaders to improve communication effectiveness and employee experience.
• Collaborate closely with Regional Liaisons to ensure global resonance and local relevance of communication programs.
• Operate as a senior integrator across functions (Clinical Development, Corporate Enablers
• Solves complex problems and/or conducts complex analyses.
• Serves as employee communications subject matter expert with executive and senior leaders. Gains support for ideas or positions on difficult issues.
• Anticipates and resolves complex problems. Applies strategic and critical thinking to identify solutions to non-standard requests and moderately complex problems.
• Drives solutions to meet business and employee needs across the enterprise.
• Intense collaboration with other members of Global Corporate Communications & Marketing, Clinical Development and Corporate Enabling functions.
• Develop strategies and manage timelines for multi-tiered communications initiatives.
• Receives little instruction on day-to-day work.
• Must have the ability to communicate directly with business leaders to represent employee communications.

Education Requirements
Min/Preferred Education Level Description
Minimum 4 Year / Bachelors Degree BA/BS in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, English, Public Relations or related field.

• Strong communications strategist with experience in global and matrixed organization
• Demonstrated ability to drive employee engagement and other business results through effective communications.
• Understanding of global healthcare trends, challenges and workforce.
• Exhibits superior writing, editing and presentation skills; project management skills; and consultative skills (including effective questioning, critical thinking, stakeholder management and communication methodology application).
• Proficiency in change management communication strategies.
• Demonstrated success driving internal communications strategy for senior leaders.
• Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills with the ability to distill complexity into clarity.
• Strong digital fluency across internal channels (Teams, intranet, video, newsletters, digital employee experience platforms).
• Proven ability to influence leaders, navigate ambiguity and drive alignment across matrixed environments.
• Strong project management, prioritization and stakeholder-management capabilities.
• Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution.
• Native proficiency in English; additional languages a plus.

Salary Range:
$118,700.00 - $207,800.00
The base salary range represents the anticipated low and high of the Syneos Health range for this position. Actual salary will vary based on various factors such as the candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role.
