Job Description
About Brain Co.
Brain Co. is an applied AI startup co-founded by Jared Kushner and Elad Gil, and backed by leading Silicon Valley builders including Patrick Collison and Andrej Karpathy.
We are building AI applications for the world’s most important institutions, delivering impact on real-world problems across governments, healthcare systems, and critical industries.
Our progress so far:
Automated construction permitting for a sovereign government → 80% faster, unlocking $375M+ in value
Optimized supply chains for a leading global energy company → 30% lower cost, 99% reliability, preventing $100M+ in losses
Streamlined hospital patient care across national health systems → 40% better outcomes, 80% less admin work
Company momentum:
Raised a $55M Series A from leading investors
Built a team of 70+ AI experts from Tesla, Google DeepMind, NVIDIA, and Databricks
At Brain Co., we focus on applying frontier AI to real institutional challenges, working alongside governments, healthcare systems, and critical industries to modernize how essential services operate.
We are looking for leaders who want to help bring new technology into institutions that impact millions of people.
About the Role
We are hiring a VP / Head of Government to build and lead our public sector vertical. This leader will be responsible for developing Brain Co.’s strategy for working with government institutions globally: identifying priority workflows, forming strategic partnerships, and converting early pilots into large-scale deployments.
The role sits at the intersection of government networks, technology adoption, and institutional transformation. You will work closely with senior leadership, including Brain Co.’s COO Marne Levine, to build the company’s government footprint and bring AI systems into public sector operations. This is a builder role: part operator, part strategist, and part dealmaker. You will be responsible for turning early government engagements into a scalable vertical for the company.
What You’ll Do
Build the Government Vertical:
Define Brain Co.’s strategy for deploying AI systems across government institutions
Identify high-impact operational workflows (permitting, benefits administration, regulatory review, etc.)
Turn early pilots into repeatable deployments across agencies and jurisdictions
Develop Government Relationships:
Build relationships with senior leaders across state, local, and federal governments
Engage with policy leaders, agency heads, and institutional partners
Navigate procurement, contracting, and regulatory processes required to deploy technology in government environments
Drive Early Deployments:
Source and structure pilot programs with government partners
Work closely with product and engineering teams to translate government workflows into deployable systems
Help guide product development based on real operational needs inside agencies
Build Ecosystem Partnerships:
Engage with organizations such as national government associations, policy networks, and civic institutions
Develop partnerships that accelerate adoption across jurisdictions
Help Scale a New Category:
Help position Brain Co. as a trusted partner for governments deploying AI
Contribute to long-term strategy for expanding Brain Co.’s work across regulated industries
Who You Are
We are open to candidates from a range of backgrounds, including:
Senior government officials or advisors
Leaders from public sector technology companies
Operators who have built businesses selling into government
Policy or regulatory leaders with deep institutional networks
Public sector operators who have worked at the intersection of government and technology
Strong candidates will bring:
Deep understanding of how government institutions operate
Experience navigating procurement, contracting, and regulatory environments
Relationships across government and policy networks
Ability to operate as a builder in a fast-moving startup environment
Curiosity about applying AI and emerging technologies to large institutional problems
Why This Role Matters
Governments operate many of the systems that shape everyday life, from infrastructure permitting to benefits administration to healthcare delivery.
Many of these processes remain manual, slow, and difficult to scale. Brain Co. is building AI systems that help governments modernize these operational workflows. This role will help bring those capabilities into public institutions and shape how governments adopt AI over the coming decade.

If you’re excited about helping modernize government and bringing frontier AI into the public sector, we’d love to hear from you.
