Position Overview

Engage fi is seeking a Data Services Consultant to support banks and credit unions with data strategy, reporting, and validation during complex system initiatives including core conversions, mergers, and platform transitions.

This role partners directly with clients to ensure data accuracy, reporting continuity, and operational insights throughout the lifecycle of large-scale data projects. The consultant will analyze data environments, develop reporting solutions, and lead data validation efforts during system transitions.


Key Responsibilities

Client Advisory

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to bank and credit union clients on enterprise data strategy, reporting, and validation.
  • Facilitate client workshops, stakeholder discussions, and project updates.
  • Translate technical findings into clear business insights and recommendations.

Data & Analytics

  • Develop reports, dashboards, and data extracts using SQL and BI tools.
  • Analyze operational and financial data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Design and support data validation and reconciliation processes.

Core Conversion & System Transition Support

  • Support core conversions, mergers, deconversions, and system implementations.
  • Lead data extraction, transformation, reconciliation, and validation efforts.
  • Ensure continuity of regulatory, operational, and executive reporting during system transitions.
  • Coordinate with vendors on data mapping, file specifications, and integrations.

Project Management

  • Manage multiple client engagements while maintaining project timelines and deliverables.
  • Identify project risks and support mitigation strategies.
  • Provide executive-level reporting and client status updates.

Requirements

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Data Analytics, Business, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 2-3+ years of experience in SQL, data analysis, or business intelligence.
  • Experience with data warehousing and reporting solutions.
  • Experience supporting financial services reporting or regulated data environments.
  • Experience with system implementations, core conversions, mergers, or large-scale data migrations.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and client communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or other BI tools
  • Experience with core banking systems (Fiserv, Jack Henry, Symitar, or similar)
  • Experience with data validation, reconciliation, or reporting automation
  • Consulting or client-facing experience in financial services

Work Environment

  • Remote position
  • Up to 30% travel required for client engagements
  • Prolonged computer use and occasional lifting up to 15 pounds
