Job Description

THE ROLE

The Senior Producer at ADVOC8 is a seasoned production leader who drives mid- to large-scale experiential projects from kickoff through onsite execution. They are a trusted partner to clients, a steady operational anchor for internal teams, and a proactive problem-solver who keeps complex programs moving with clarity, calm, and precision.

The Senior Producer collaborates closely with Creative, Strategy, and Client Engagement to bring ideas to life-ensuring every concept is executable, on budget, and aligned to client goals. They also mentor junior production staff, model best-in-class processes, and help strengthen the operational backbone of the Production discipline.

This role is ideal for a veteran producer ready to take ownership of projects and/or major workstreams in driving excellence across the department.

Must be available to travel for onsite work May 4th-8th and June 18th-21st, with the possibility of additional trips if or as needed.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Project Leadership

  • Lead producers, coordinators, and production managers across medium-to-large-scale projects or individual workstreams.
  • Keep all assigned workstreams on schedule and on budget, flagging risks early and proposing solutions proactively.
  • Ensure core project management processes are in place and followed:
    • Client and internal team kickoff meetings
    • Weekly internal tacticals
    • Weekly client tacticals (co-led with Client Services)
    • Internal and external debrief meetings
    • Client recaps
  • Maintain and organize all required project documentation, including:
    • Workback timelines
    • Staffing plans
    • Production schedules
    • Budget matrices (internal and external as needed)
    • Production decks
    • Creative decks
    • Meeting agendas & notes
    • Contracts & deal memos
    • Inventory trackers
    • Asset lists
    • Recap decks
  • Build and manage project budgets, revenue estimates, and reconciliation.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors; ensure seamless operational integration and adherence to ADVOC8 standards.
  • Review and negotiate vendor/contractor pricing, scopes, and deal memos.
  • Oversee project-level AP/AR processes, partnering with internal operations teams.
  • Lead site visits, walkthroughs, technical checks, and stakeholder reviews.
  • Serve as the onsite production leader, ensuring smooth execution, safety, quality control, and professional representation of ADVOC8.
  • Ensure proper project close-out and documentation of learnings.

Client Partnership & Project Communication

  • Serve as the production-facing client lead, partnering closely with Client Services to ensure all communication is aligned, consistent, and rooted in shared expectations.
  • Lead client discussions related to production execution, timelines, budgets, deliverables, workflows, and technical/project specifics - while Client Services maintains overall relationship ownership.
  • Support Client Services in ensuring adherence to contract terms, billing guidelines, and deposit requirements.
  • Identify opportunities for expanded agency involvement and share them with Client Services for follow-up and evaluation.
  • Participate in client meetings, presentations, reviews, and work sessions as the subject-matter expert for production.

Creative Collaboration

  • Facilitate partnership between Creative and Client Engagement to ensure production, creative, and strategic thinking stay aligned throughout the project lifecycle
  • Support ideation and development of creative concepts, offering production-informed insight.
  • Review concepts before internal and client-facing reviews to ensure feasibility and budget alignment.
  • Partner with Creative to guide and manage creative review cycles, internal and external.

Team Leadership

  • Manage and mentor producers and coordinators on your project teams, delegate tasks and/or workstreams, provide ongoing coaching and oversight.
  • Lead full team onsite for live projects.

 

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

Experience & Leadership

  • 5–8+ years of experience in experiential production, live events, or related fields.
  • Proven success leading medium-to-large experiential activations and complex workstreams. Applicants without significant experience in experiential will not be considered.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor, coach, and support the growth of producers and coordinators.
  • Strong communication skills with the confidence to lead internal teams and represent production to clients.
  • Excellent organizational and decision-making skills, with the ability to prioritize under pressure.
  • Experience partnering effectively with Creative Leads, Client Leads, and cross-functional collaborators.

Technical & Production Skills

  • Deep experience in large-scale fabrication, technical production, vendor management, and onsite execution.
  • Experience in conferences, summits and trade shows.
  • Strong budget development and management skills across multi-workstream programs.
  • Required proficiency with Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drive) and project management tools.
  • Comfortable reviewing and negotiating vendor contracts, scopes, and pricing.
  • Successful track record delivering complex B2B and brand reputation work (as opposed to CPG/Retail).
  • Ability to navigate production feasibility, creative alignment, and logistical planning with equal strength.
  • Willingness and ability to travel and serve as onsite production lead for events.

COMPENSATION

This is a contract position structured around a defined scope of work and monthly retainer. The engagement is expected to require approximately 20 hours per week plus two heavier onsite weeks (May 4th-8th and June 18th-21st), for a monthly retainer of $7,500-8,000. The monthly retainer includes up to ~240 hours over three months.

We have transitioned from a once Washington D.C.-based agency to being Washington, D.C.-born. This position is not location-based, though travel will be required for project work. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.; at this time, we are not able to provide sponsorship.
