Job Description
- Develop and deliver oral and written presentations on insurance issues via attending vestry meetings, diocesan conventions, seminars, etc. to discuss property/liability.
- Identify risk management needs and ensure compliance with Episcopal Safety Program (ESP) risk recommendations via communication and any necessary follow-up with clients.
- Understand and be able to communicate any underwriting concerns.
- Obtain updated risk management details directly from clients via completion of renewal review; providing details to underwriting. Negotiate and get agreement on values.
- Verify and update MSB replacement cost calculations as needed.
- Market to Episcopal churches that are not currently insured with CIC.
- Upselling of current client base Crime, Umbrella, Auto, Workers Compensation, International Travel
- Contributes towards the team establishing benchmark retention goal of 97% of existing book.
- Complete all details for the property, general liability, crime, directors & officers, auto, workers compensation and umbrella that are required to obtain a quote
- Present coverage offerings via phone, email and mail
- System based reporting and forecasting retention, risk management and sales objectives
- Must personally and proactively plan and accomplish assigned tasks and goals
- Detailed knowledge and understanding of property and casualty products, services and policies
- Proven use of agency system(s)
- Professional insurance or risk management designation(s) (CPCU, ARM) preferred; active involvement in professional development strongly encouraged.
- Highly organized and capable of handling a number of time sensitive and important issues simultaneously, with diplomacy and accuracy.
- Solid knowledge and understanding of functional terminology, guidelines and procedures as well as a solid knowledge of products, services and policies.
- Proven track record with regards to judgment used in the application of various criteria and procedures, the identification and investigation of discrepancies, the resolution of problems and the expeditious processing of all transactions.
- Complete understanding of the need to achieve team goals in a “customer-focused” environment.
- Familiarity with the Episcopal Church preferred but not required.
- Willingness and ability to travel as necessary
- Highly developed listening and communication skills – both written and oral.
- An empathetic, proactive, creative response to customer concerns and needs.
- 6+ years of previous experience in a field structured organization providing direct client facing customer support acting as a liaison between customers and companies (preferred). Commercial lines Property & Casualty insurance experience, preferably in one or more core disciplines (e.g. underwriting, risk management marketing, claims) is desirable.
- Applicable state resident and non-resident agent license or obtain a license in a time frame established by the supervisor and the incumbent.
- BA/BS preferred. Combination of education and experience will be considered.
- Some travel will be required. Travel conditions may vary.
Salary Range: $81,000 - $104,000
