SCOPE:
The Director of Financial Accounting is a full-time, salaried employee. This employee will report directly to the VP of Association Accounting. The Director of Financial Accounting is a leader on the accounting team, who ensures financial reporting accuracy and appropriate internal controls within the Vantaca platform.
RESPONSIBILITES:
Lead, Manage & Hold Accountable
- Participate in weekly Accounting L10 meetings
- Report weekly and monthly metrics
- Oversee other GL accounting team members
Financial Reporting
- Manage monthly close process
- Produce timely, accurate financial statements
- Budget coordination
- Coordinate with auditors, when requested
- Set up and modify recurring assessment charges
External Communications
- Assist with community manager questions and concerns
- Periodic communications with board members
Onboarding
- Owner balances
- Beginning journal entries
- Analyze and convert incoming books
Banking
- One time and recurring transfers
- Troubleshoot banking transactions
- Assist with access to non-signer accounts
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Knowledge:
The position requires knowledge in the following areas:
- Community Association Housing Model expertise
- Understanding of Microsoft products
- Advanced writing and communication skills
Skills:
The incumbent must possess the following skills:
- Effective verbal and listening communication skills
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with peers, executives and external partners.
- Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
- Effective organizational skills
- Problem solving
- Computer skills including the ability to proficiently operate spreadsheets, relational databases, word processing programs, and e-mail as well as type a minimum of 45 wpm

EDUCATION & WORK EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS:
Previous experience producing HOA financials is a must.
Previous experience producing financials within Vantaca is preferred.
