Job Description:
Mutual of Omaha Insurance Company has an immediate full-time opening in our Statutory Reporting and Analysis department for an experienced, self-motivated, and results-oriented accountant responsible for the accurate preparation of the statutory basis financial statements and other regulatory reporting requirements for one or more of our insurance companies. This position will actively participate in an environment that embraces change and innovation, learning, and interactive feedback while adhering to finance policies, procedures and internal controls.

- Estimated Salary: $65,000-$75,000, plus annual bonus opportunity.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:
- Prepare statutory basis financial statements and other regulatory reporting requirements for one or more of our insurance companies.
- Recommend actions to management throughout the enterprise, identifies trends, risks, and indicators through analysis of financial and nonfinancial data.
- Drive execution on ideas to improve business processes across enterprise functions and knowledge in the workplace.
- Seek out projects and take a leadership role with increasing frequency.
- Operate collaboratively while building relationships with business partners.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING:
- Attention to detail and follow-up, analytical acumen and excellent organizational skills with the ability to handle and prioritize multiple and competing priorities.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Effective verbal, non-verbal and written format communication with peers and internal business partners while tailoring content and approach to the intended audience.
- Ability to utilize creative thinking, learn new technologies and apply this knowledge to optimize business processes.
- 2-6+ years of professional experience in public accounting, corporate accounting, regulatory environment, etc.
- You promote a culture of diversity and inclusion, value different ideas and opinions, and listen courageously, remaining curious in all that you do.
- Ability to work at our home office located in Omaha, Nebraska, in a hybrid environment.
PREFERRED:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent experience in accounting related field.
- Experience with SOVOS annual statement software, Wdesk, SSAS, and Peoplesoft.
- CPA or equivalent a plus.
