This position is responsible for obtaining pre-certifications and pre-authorizations for procedures and medications, which may also involve scheduling outpatient testing appointments with other providers and coordinating patient orders. Daily tasks include obtaining timely prior authorizations from various insurance types, selecting relevant medical records, verifying demographics, and thoroughly documenting all follow-ups and determinations.

The Surgery Scheduler will provide administrative support by managing day-to-day interactions with the patient population, functioning as a liaison for non-clinical issues between patients, physicians, and medical representatives. Essential duties include managing physicians’ clinical workload, scheduling surgeries across multiple sites via Epic, obtaining necessary documents, and coordinating treatment care plans across specialties.
