The Sr. Consultant plays a critical, customer-facing role that blends strong business analysis and requirements facilitation with hands-on configuration and cross-functional coordination. This role partners closely with customer stakeholders to understand business objectives and desired outcomes, then translates those needs into requirements, configuration decisions, and implementation artifacts that guide successful delivery.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead structured requirements elicitation activities including workshops, interviews, and working sessions with customer stakeholders.
- Facilitate discussions to uncover business goals, pain points, constraints, and success criteria, ensuring alignment across diverse stakeholder groups.
- Document and validate functional and non-functional requirements, business rules, assumptions, and dependencies.
- Translate business requirements into implementation-ready artifacts such as process flows, requirements and user stories.
- Develop current-state and future-state business process flows to identify inefficiencies, gaps, and improvement opportunities.
- Use business process flows as facilitation and decision-support artifacts to align stakeholders and guide solution design and implementation.
- Perform system configuration aligned to approved requirements and Accela best practices.
- Partner with technical, data, and integration teams to define, clarify, and coordinate technical requirements and dependencies.
- Act as a bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring intent, constraints, and impacts are clearly understood.
- Guide customers toward standard solutions and best practices while balancing business needs, scope, and technical considerations.
- Collaborate with Project Managers to manage scope, identify risks early, and support informed decision-making.
- Support testing and validation activities including UAT planning, defect triage, and resolution coordination.
- Contribute to go-live readiness activities by validating configuration completeness, business process alignment, and operational readiness.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Strong background in business analysis, requirements elicitation, and stakeholder facilitation within complex implementation projects.
- Experience developing and using business process flows (e.g., current-state and future-state) to facilitate stakeholder alignment and support solution design.
- Hands-on experience configuring enterprise software solutions based on discovery requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate effectively with cross-functional technical teams.
- Experience documenting requirements using industry-standard techniques such as process modeling, use cases, or user stories.
- Ability to think conceptually while maintaining attention to detail in configuration and documentation.
- Proven problem-solving skills with the ability to recommend practical, best-practice solutions.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence and guide both business and technical stakeholders.
- Experience working within defined project scope and supporting change control discussions.
- Comfort operating in fast-paced, multi-stakeholder delivery environments.
Desired Qualifications
- Previous professional services or consulting experience (Big 5 consulting a plus).
- Government or public-sector domain expertise.
- Mentoring or coaching experience to other consultants on facilitation techniques, documentation standards, and customer engagement practices.
- Experience documenting and communicating cross-functional workflows to support technical design and integration planning.
