Role Description
As an Executive Director, Physician Development, you will drive the strategic identification, engagement, and recruitment of physicians across multi-state territories to transition into the MDVIP model. You will serve as a senior individual contributor accountable for complex deal strategy, enterprise-level consultative selling, and high-level stakeholder engagement.
- Lead the most complex and high-impact recruitment opportunities.
- Provide mentorship to peers and influence best practices.
- Measure success by exceeding recruitment goals and contributing to MDVIP’s overall market expansion.
Key Responsibilities

Physician Recruitment & Relationship Management
- Drive Strategic Market Penetration: Cultivate and manage a robust pipeline of high-value physician prospects.
- Build Executive-Level Trust: Serve as a trusted advisor to physicians and key influencers.
- Conduct Advanced Practice Assessments: Lead evaluations involving group practices and multi-physician environments.
- Deliver High-Impact Data Insights: Present demographic and market studies to support physician decision-making.

Sales Process & Strategic Execution
- Own Complex Sales Cycles: Manage high-complexity recruitment engagements from outreach to signed agreement.
- Lead Through STAR Milestones: Guide prospects through the Successful Transition And Retention process.
- Communicate Financial and Operational Impact: Articulate the business case for MDVIP.
- Champion Sales Excellence: Model consultative selling and influence peer adoption of best practices.

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Transition Success
- Collaborate Across MDVIP Teams: Partner with internal teams for seamless evaluations and transitions.
- Ensure High-Quality Post-Signature Engagement: Provide guidance for smooth onboarding.
- Provide Market Intelligence & Process Feedback: Share insights to refine messaging and processes.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated success in complex medical sales or related healthcare business development roles.
- Strong business and financial acumen; ability to articulate P&L impact and long-term ROI.
- Ability to establish deep trust and credibility with physicians and key decision influencers.
- Advanced consultative selling skills in multi-stakeholder environments.
- Exemplary communication and executive presence.
- Ability to travel up to 65% of the time via car and airplane.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Ten years (10) related work experience in end-to-end sales management or complex consultative sales.
- Experience delivering compelling sales presentations and executive-level discussions.
- Experience engaging and influencing Primary Care Physicians or related clinical audiences.
Preferred Qualifications
- Trained in the Challenger Selling model.
- Medical sales, healthcare, or clinic operations background.
- Experience selling intangible ideas/concepts to primary care physicians.
- Experience navigating large group practices and complex ownership structures.
