Job Description
Role Description
As a Technical Lead for our Developer Experience (DevEx) and Cloud Infrastructure teams, you will improve engineering productivity, quality, delivery safety, and production reliability across Traackr.
- Identify where the development lifecycle is slow, confusing, or tedious, make targeted improvements, and measure success.
- Keep our infrastructure secure, reliable, observable, and scalable.
- Core work spans internal services and CLI tools, CI/CD and release engineering, standardized developer environments and tooling, AI-enabled automation, cloud infrastructure management, and production reliability.
- Work closely with product, leadership, and other non-technical stakeholders.
- Explain technical decisions and tradeoffs clearly, and communicate effectively in written and spoken English.
Responsibilities
- Tech lead two teams (DevEx and Cloud Infrastructure) totaling 6–8 engineers: set technical direction, review key designs/changes, and raise engineering standards across both domains.
- Own the delivery toolchain end-to-end (Git, CI, deployments/releases): reduce flakiness, improve build/test times, make releases repeatable with clear rollback, and drive adoption of org-wide standards through tooling, docs, and supported migrations.
- Own the reliability and scalability of Traackr's cloud infrastructure: keep production well-architected, cost-efficient, and resilient. Lead incident response and blameless postmortems; drive preventive improvements.
- Improve the software development lifecycle (setup → build/test → PR → deploy → observe) and standardize environments so teams spend less time on tooling and more time shipping.
- Identify high-value opportunities to integrate AI into developer workflows — e.g. code review, onboarding, or internal search — with sensible defaults around security and data handling.
- Mentor engineers and raise the bar through documentation, pairing, and lightweight coaching.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of software engineering experience, with significant focus on three or more of: DevEx, CI/CD, release engineering (preferred), platform automation, developer tooling, or cloud infrastructure (preferred).
- Proficiency with Go or a comparable backend language; experience building internal services, CLI tools, and REST APIs.
- Hands-on experience with CI platforms (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions), Git platforms (e.g., GitHub, Bitbucket), and infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible, Helm).
- Strong experience with Kubernetes-based deployments (EKS preferred), cluster management, and deployment safety mechanisms.
- Track record improving pipeline and workflow performance — build/test time, caching, flake reduction — with observability to back it up (SLOs/SLIs, Grafana, Prometheus, Datadog, or similar).
- Experience scoping cross-functional work and running org-wide rollouts, migrations, and deprecations.
Nice To Have
- Progressive delivery patterns (blue/green, canary).
- Networking fundamentals relevant to app delivery and production reliability (traffic routing, reverse proxies, ingress, load balancing, DNS).
- Experience with AWS cost optimization strategies.
- Familiarity with security best practices for AWS environments (secrets management, network segmentation).
Benefits
- Competitive Salary
- Remote Work Options with Hybrid Flexibility and Home Office Set-Up Stipend
- Coworking Office Subscription for Collaborative Spaces
- Health, Dental, and Life Insurance Coverage*
- Open Vacation Policy and Flexible Holiday Schedule to Suit Your Needs
- Paid Parental Leave to Support Quality Time with Your Loved Ones
- Career Development, including Internal and External Training Opportunities
