Job Description
Role Description
This position is responsible for the management of emergent and non-emergency medical care at worksites as designated by the client or outlined within the Scope of Work (SOW). Examples of such worksites may include, but are not limited to, drilling rigs, hazardous construction areas, and areas of high workforce population density. The Remote Healthcare Provider (RHCP) is responsible for the provision of primary and emergency medical care to client employees, contractors, and subcontractor personnel at the relevant worksite location or defined area of responsibility.
- Provide urgent and emergency medical care for all workers at the client worksite
- Undertake accurate clinical assessments and examinations
- Maintain up-to-date and accurate individual medical records using a computer-based medical record system
- Report medical treatments in accordance with client requirements
- Travel with patients, if necessary, to the nearest approved medical facility
- Ensure critical medical supplies and equipment are pre-packed and available for emergency use or patient transport
- Participate in simulation exercises organized by the client
- Maintain full knowledge of Remote Healthcare Provider (RHCP) Guidelines and Recordable Case Management (RCM) Guidelines
- Be cognizant of the content and ethos of the RMI Field Operations Manual (FOM)
- Maintain awareness of the Medical Emergency Response Plan (MERP), Topside and Global Coordination Center (GCC) capabilities, and all medevac or patient transfer procedures
- Remain knowledgeable of project disease prevention, control, and management processes
- Refer non-resolving patients or those requiring secondary diagnostics to Topside Support
- Stabilize, manage, and monitor patients during emergency illness or injury until aeromedical, vessel, or ground evacuation occurs
- Act as the on-site point of contact during emergency cases, communicating directly with client Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) or Operations personnel
- Report case categories to the client-nominated line manager or EHS Supervisor (FAC, MTC, WR, NWR, LTI, RWC, etc.)
- Take appropriate action regarding reportable diseases and communicable infection outbreaks
- Ensure the clinic is maintained at full readiness with appropriate medicines, equipment, and consumables per RHCP Guidelines and SOW requirements
- Perform daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance and technical checks on clinic equipment
- Carry out health and hygiene control and management processes as directed
- Conduct workforce first-aid training and emergency drills as required by the SOW
- Manage site-controlled substances (CS) supply
- Submit monthly records of controlled substance checks and control measures
- Manage patient data using the RMI Electronic Health Record (EHR) system
- Complete and submit all client-required reporting per the SOW
- Complete and submit timesheets accurately and on time
- Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times
- Serve as the primary point of contact for client EHS and site management personnel
- Conduct site medical inductions and monitor workforce health status in accordance with national, client, or Fit-to-Work standards
- Perform drug and alcohol screening as required by the SOW
- Administer workforce immunization programs as required
- Promote health and wellness initiatives within the workforce
- Comply with all statutory, company, client, and SOW-required training and operational requirements
- Maintain current professional certifications required for assigned projects
- Perform other duties as required
Qualifications

Requirements
- Minimum of two (2) years’ experience as an independent, fully qualified medical professional, including one of the following:
- US National Registry Paramedic and/or US State Licensed Paramedic
- Locally licensed physician (MD/DO/MBBS/MBBA) without restrictions
- US, UK, or Canadian Advanced Practitioner (APRN – NP/FNP/CRNA, or Physician Assistant) without restrictions
- Locally licensed Registered Nurse (RN) without restrictions
- Other high-level paramedic licenses reviewed as required
- Previous experience in remote medical support services preferred, but not required
- Offshore experience preferred, but not required
- Wind industry experience preferred, but not required
Computer Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- General computer and technology literacy
- Ability to effectively use RMI EHR systems following training and assessment
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- English fluency
- Successful completion of RMI pre-hire procedures, including a clinical knowledge assessment
- Demonstrated reliability, integrity, and professional conduct
- Ability to pass all nationally required, project-specific, or SOW-required Fit-to-Work medical assessments
- Documented and current immunizations as required by the project, Ministry of Health, and CDC recommendations
- Ability to write comprehensive technical and procedural reports
- Strong administrative and coordination skills
- Ethical understanding of patient care, data handling, and confidentiality
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and equivalent international data protection requirements
Certificates and Licenses
- Required medical licenses and certifications in good standing and without restrictions
- OEUK or equivalent medical certificate
- BLS/CPR (American Heart Association) or equivalent
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) – AHA or equivalent
- Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) or equivalent preferred but not required
- BOSIET with HUET CA-EBS
Working Conditions
- Ability to meet all physical, medical, and environmental requirements of the role
- Work may be performed in austere and remote locations with limited communication and transport
- Living conditions may be rudimentary
- Special dietary needs may be difficult to accommodate and should be disclosed during the pre-hire medical assessment
- Deployment locations may involve extreme temperatures and limited infrastructure
- Indigenous disease risks may be present; required immunizations must be completed prior to deployment
- Malaria and Dengue may be endemic in some deployment areas, and daily malaria prophylaxis may be required
