Job Description
The Cloud Data Engineer in VNS Health’s Data Architecture Services Group designs, engineers and administers an enterprise data warehouse serving business and clinical units across VNS Health. Responsible for cloud data warehouse administration.
Key job duties include:
- Preps technical design documents from functional requirements; designs and engineers ELT/ETL framework; sets up application schemas, develops database code, conducts unit and system testing of end-to-end integration; handles release management and production support as needed.
- Works closely with data and analytics team to build greater functionality into data systems; builds and maintains system infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation and loading of data from sources across VNS Health, using SQL and AWS.
- Optimizes data pipeline architecture for greater scalability; integrates large, complex data sets to meet business requirements.
- Works with stakeholders Agency-wide to address tech issues, supports data-related IT infrastructure needs, streamlines and updates business logic and processes.
- Identifies, designs, builds and implements internal process improvements; automates manual processes; optimizes data delivery, ensures data integrity; designs and builds analytics tools using data pipeline, to provide insights into customer acquisition, operational efficiency, and other KPIs.
This position is fully remote; may work from anywhere in the U.S. Annual salary is $128,750.
Qualifications
Education: Master’s in Computer Science, MIS, Electronics Engineering or related field.
Experience: Requires 2 years’ experience with: cloud database engineering, replication, integration, manipulation and transformation; managing Role Based Access Control and proficiency writing complex SQL queries; AWS Cloud Services, data pipeline and workflow management tools, data modeling for Change Data Capture and Slowly Changing Dimensions, including logical, conceptual and physical modeling of data warehouse projects; version controlling GitHub, & healthcare datasets, e.g. Members, Claims and Risk Adjustment.
