Job Description

Who we are

With its A.I.-powered robotic technology platform, Symbotic is changing the way consumer goods move through the supply chain. Intelligent software orchestrates advanced robots in a high-density, end-to-end system – reinventing warehouse automation for increased efficiency, speed and flexibility.

What we need

Symbotic is seeking a highly motivated Buyer to support critical material needs across our Supply Chain organization. This individual will bring a “think outside the box” mentality, strong analytical capability, and a passion for teamwork in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

We are looking for a Buyer with proven experience executing time-sensitive procurement activities, strong collaboration and organizational skills, and the ability to respond quickly to unplanned material demands supporting automation, warehouse distribution, or service-based operations.

What we do

Our global Sourcing, Procurement and third-party Supplier team develops innovative category management strategies in collaboration with the business. The team focuses on strategic third-party partner agreements and supports supplier relationship management, commercial execution, and overall supplier performance.

The Production Control team partners closely with these groups to execute material planning and fulfillment across active customer projects, ensuring materials are available to support installation and commissioning activities.

What you’ll do

  • Execute rapid-response purchasing activities to support urgent, unplanned material requirements from customer sites.

  • Manage critical material requests from intake through fulfillment, including purchase order creation, supplier coordination, and delivery tracking.

  • Act as a primary point of contact for site-driven escalations, ensuring timely resolution and clear communication with stakeholders.

  • Coordinate with suppliers, logistics providers, and internal teams to expedite materials while maintaining quality and compliance standards.

  • Leverage existing supplier relationships and agreements to accelerate lead times and resolve supply issues.

  • Partner with Service, Engineering, Planning, and Project teams to understand requirements, validate specifications, and prioritize critical needs.

  • Track and report on order status, risks, and delays, ensuring visibility across stakeholders and leadership.

  • Identify recurring demand patterns and supply risks; support mitigation actions to protect project schedules.

  • Drive process improvements to reduce response time, improve material availability, and enhance supplier performance.

  • Maintain accurate purchasing data and planning parameters within ERP/MRP systems.

What you’ll need

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field preferred, or equivalent work experience.

  • Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in Procurement, Purchasing, or Supply Chain execution roles.

  • Experience supporting automation, material handling systems, service parts, or project-based environments preferred.

  • Demonstrated ability to execute under tight timelines and manage competing priorities.

  • Working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems (SAP preferred).

  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills preferred.

  • Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.

  • Analytical mindset with problem-solving capabilities.

Our Environment

  • Up to 10% of travel may be required. Employees must have a valid driver’s license and the ability to drive and/or fly to client and other customer locations.

  • The employee is responsible for owning a credit card and managing expenses personally to be reimbursed on a bi-weekly basis.
